Would really like some attention to the whole Private Benjamin franchise. The movie has yet to get a proper remaster on BD. Even the DVD is still the pan&scan format...bleck!
Would be nice to see the TV series released (even on DVD!) for which Eileen Brennan won an Emmy. It's only 39 episodes...
It didn't appear to be brushed. It seemed filmic to me and had a nice light layer of grain. It wasn't VERY grainy so maybe "some" DNR-ing was done to it. But it wasn't a constant grain show for me. But, then again, neither makes it unwatchable for me. I found it to be a really nice viewing.
I never really understood the hate for this one nor Shanghai Surprise. I think many just simply didn't understand what Madonna was going for in terms of re-creating the classic screwball comedy (in Who's That Girl?) or the romantic adventure of Shanghai Surprise. They were bygone eras of film...
Watched this last night and enjoyed it! I know many will find flaws in the BD but, honestly, I have never seen the movie look this good. By my eyes, it looked wonderful, crisp and clear. Audio was also loud and clear. No problems at all. There were a handful of shots that looked a little soft...
Here is my Top 10 80s Films that I wish would get a Bluray release:
1. Welcome To 18 (1986)
2. The Malibu Bikini Shop (1986)
3. Sticky Fingers (1988)
4. Two Of A Kind (1983)
5. Outrageous Fortune (1987)
6. Campus Man (1987)
7. Cookie (1989)
8. Valet Girls (1987)
9. Kiss Me Goodbye (1982)

For me, it's the worse batch as well. Not one title I am interested in. I really don't mind waiting but it feels like I have waited months for them to announce anything that would be of interest to me, mostly because they keep sticking to one era with just a couple more contemporary ones thrown...
My thoughts exactly. I don't see the appeal in that show one iota. Would love to see them finish Head Of The Class and Falcon Crest. At this point, I'd even take both on DVD.
I know there are a lot of classic movie fans here in terms of movies from the 30s and 40s, so this is a great month for them. I'm REALLY hoping they will make it an 80s/90s slate some month where every movie is from that time period. It seems like ages since we've had announcements (plural) from...
Nothing for me this month. Slightly disappointed because there wasn't anything I was interested in last month either. Happy for those that found something they wanted. I was hoping for at least 1 contemporary title but I guess that was used for "The Flash" even though that's TV not film. ~sigh~...
Yes, I really hope it's soon. In the next batch of announcements would be great.
If it's anything like the restoration of "The Long Long Trailer", it will sell so well they will wish Lucy and Desi had made another technicolor movie. LOL
I would absolutely LOVE to see a Complete Series set of this show as a companion set to AITF! Shout is re-releasing "The Jeffersons" but I am doubting they will put any money into an ABP set. BUT, if they did, I would probably buy 2 copies as I love the characters so much. Would be great to make...
Did you buy that as part of one of the Doris Day multi-pack movies? I recall buying the same and several discs were defective. I bought "Lucky Me" separately and my copy still works (printed at different facility from the IPFI code in the center). I also backed it up to be safe as it's one of my...
Still hoping for "Please Don't Eat The Daisies" or "Lucky Me" with Doris Day!
More Elvis! And "Forever, Darling" with Lucy and Desi ("The Long Long Trailer" on BR is perfection!)
While we're at it... some 80s classics would be great! It's been a while since they have released any 80s...
