Yes, every film needs a placard as they're all a product of their time and will offend someone in some way. We must be protected. ---------------

Meet John Doe (1941) coming to 4K UHD/Blu-ray from ClassicFlix!

The recording I made in 2019 from TCM looks head and shoulders better than other version I've seen, and if it's from the LoC print then I expect this new Blu-ray to look very good, but I can't help wishing it might be based on the OCN, if it exists. ---------------

    Warner Archive Announcements Thread

Perhaps there are people at Warner who love these films as much as we do, and have a passion to share them with us, but are being forced to attached these silly warnings to make it possible. A small but petty sacrifice. For the record, I couldn't care less whether or not these warnings...

    Warner Archive Announcements Thread

Interesting that only a select few films need to be identified as products of their time and as not necessarily reflecting the values of the studio. Most of the trash being released today is much more likely to harm the psyche of today's youth than 90 year old films they have a 0.01% chance of...

If the OCN does indeed exist then this doesn't seem like good news. ---------------

That they selectively put them on the films they do indicates (to me) an attempt to shame those who enjoy those films for (or in spite of) what they are. ---------------

I think this warning should be put on all movies. Are they not also a product of their time? And are the values of Warner Bros. Discovery being represented by all films not receiving such a disclaimer? ---------------

How do you feel about the included Blu-ray? Is it based on the same restoration as the 4K UHD, or is it the same as the previous Blu-ray? ---------------

I actually made the Vitameatavegamin myself, as a Christmas gift for my mother. She loved it, but unfortunately she passed away last year. I spent a lot of time trying to get that label right. ---------------

Scott Atwell Star Trek Discussion thread (Series and Films)

I have several of the Enterprise 1:350 model kits myself and like you hope to build the "perfect" Enterprise one day, but until then this TOMY model will look fantastic in place of my old Master Replicas Enterprise (seen below). The MR will go back in storage for at least a while (the house is...

Scott Atwell Star Trek Discussion thread (Series and Films)

This isn't as exciting as finding the original 33" model on eBay the other day, but I took my new TOMY 33" die-cast Enterprise out of the box yesterday so I could check out the lights and paint job. There are certainly some shortcomings, but overall it looks great and will probably replace the...

And if Kino told us why the commentaries aren't being included would that make them appear on the discs? No. So there is nothing productive to be gained by beating this dead horse. ---------------

Columbo Coming to Blu-ray on November 21, 2023. See Post #55!

The fact that none of us knows the reasons for the removal of special features means that none of our theories are worthy of consideration. It's all just speculation and one should hardly get bent out of shape when others choose to disregard their guess. IMO, it's best to just pretend like no...

There are plenty of studio era films that don't have a "passive woman/macho man" dynamic, but I do see your point. I probably couldn't sit through most of the films made in the last twenty years. ---------------
