But the French release most likely didn't include English or Chinese subtitles so if you're looking for Infernal Affairs in 4K, the Hong Kong release is the one to get.
This past summer, Disney has been adding Wong Kar-Wai's filmography to their streaming service Disney+. All but one notable film has been missing. Thankfully, "Happy Together" is included in the Criterion Collection boxset. 😂
Ashes of Time is also missing but even Wong Kar-Wai doesn't...
You're welcome. By the way, the Spidey 3 DVD doesn't seem to have the animated menu design like the first 2 films had. The menu is as silent as these screenshots. And the menu screen where Spidey's eyes are yellow is actually the key to one of the easter eggs I've found. I don't know if there...
when i saw it on the big screen, i didn't seem to notice the stretching that much. i thought i was seeing things. i think it's more noticeable when u watch it on TV. btw, "A Chinese Tall Story" is now on DVD. I also worked on that and provided translations for Jeff Lau's commentary. it's a...
wow...i haven't been to this forum for a long time.... anyway, i am the official commentary translator for this DVD release and correct me if i am wrong but Stanley Tong stated that he did this out of artistic choice because these ancient era scenes are "fantasy" according to Jack the...
just read a review on the 2 disc special edition of HOFD at avbuzz.com and apparently, the video isn't great. and it isn't that much of an improvement over the first release either.
just saw New Police Story on DVD and I'd have to say that this movie's been given an excellent DVD treatment. image quality is nice, colours are bright and vibrant. There is a flaw, though, particarly with edge enhancement (or is it overscan) on the left and right corner of the screen if viewed...
is this offer in Toronto as well? i wanna go check pizza hut if they're doing this as well. i have the retail version of Ninja Turtles to compare it to.
not really.... video quality wise, the japanese version is a little darker and truer to Christopher Doyle's vision. The Chinese DVD seems a little brightened, it's still good video quality, tho.
i checked out this R1 edition of Kill Bill.somehow i find the black and white censoring a little disturbing. my only hope was for the R3 hong kong edition be in full color but alas, it is not. they were lucky enough to see it in full color on the big screen.
i just got my first dvd player last year. and i was quite aware of it since 1997, considering i live next to a chinese mall. my parents wouldn't invest in a dvd player till i waited for a time when dvd players are cheap. in toronto, u can get a dvd player for 50 bucks at a supermarket in Market...
i actually enjoyed part 2 more than part 3. perhaps, it is because they had more time developing part 2 could be the reason. part 3 seemed promising but again, it seemed very rush.
someone from another forum got a reply from megastar and they said it's out of sync because the original theatrical prints had the same problem while it was dubbed in post production.
i received word that Megastar stated that the theatrical prints they received were originally out of sync when they were dubbing it during post production. I wished they spent the time to time it well enough so it won't feel that way.
you said something bad about my all-time favorite movie of my childhood?! how dare you!!! A Chinese Ghost Story is really really great to watch. you have to consider the fact that this movie was made in the height of the 1980's and the special effects are gonna be cheesy by today's standards...
The conclusion to this crime drama trilogy revolves around the events that happened 10 months after the ending of the first film and 3 years prior to the events of part 1. Video: presented in 2:35.1 anamorphic. very nice, very sharp, colors brought to life. very nicely done dvd presentation...
my vcd copy of "Drunken Master 2" seems to be as uncut as i saw it back in 1994. even includes the ending. and yes, the vcd is manufactured by Warner Brothers.
i have it on DVD and i was asking the same questions as to why the aspect ratio changed. however, Rodriguez does answer those questions in one of the bonus features documentary. (btw, it's in the "film is dead" documentary. will have to check again why he decided for the aspect ratio change)
