David, I'm assuming that (like Angel) just because you've licensed all the Hoppys doesn't mean you'll release them all. I'm guessing that first volume, whenever it's released, is going to determine if you continue. Is that correct? And as a follow-up, does the license have an expiration date...
For any that haven’t been following, David @ClassicFlix mentioned that Angel will hopefully be released this September. Great news for us b&w TV fans!
Gary “I believe this series will be released in 3 volumes” O.
Thanks again, David. As I've said often here at HTF, I'll support ClassicFlix in everything they do. I'll certainly pick up Angel and The Proud Rebel, but I'm excited about the Hopalong Cassidy films the most.
Gary "as long as I know they are definitely coming, I can wait and look forward to...
David, just so I don't misunderstand... Are you saying there won't be any announcement about the next release (whatever that may be) until September? Or that the next release won't come out until September?
Hoping if we do this again next year, I’ll be able to add a few Hopalong Cassidy films, purchased from ClassicFlix, to my watchlist.
Gary “thanks again for the challenge, Robert” O.
I think the Hopalong Cassidy films are the most in need of release, because the fanbase for that material is, in part, older and less likely to be around in another 5 to 10 years. And I'm convinced the Hoppys will sell more than Angel.
To see that material cleaned up would be a real treat. I've...
Thanks, David. All three are worthy, but if my vote helps I’d like to see the Hoppys next. :D
Gary “hoping sales pick up - you folk are the best in my book” O.
As the clock winds towards midnight here on the East Coast, I just want to say I was able to get several more films in. But I don’t have the time or the energy to write down specifics, so I’ll let it go for now. Wasn’t really worried about points or anything as it was. If it’s OK, I’ll just list...
#4 Rocky Mountain (1950)
This film begins with a car pulling up to a historical marker in California that describes a military battle that ensued on the nearby Ghost Mountain. Apparently some men fighting for the Confederate Army in the waning days of the Civil War have been sent by General Lee...
#3 Ride 'Em Cowboy (1942)
This is a fantastic Abbott & Costello vehicle set at a Dude Ranch out west, so it qualifies. It's loaded with great stars, including Dick Foran as a westerns novel writer who's created an entire run of books based off a fictional character he portrays. The problem is...
I express my apologies for a complete lack of participation in something I really looked forward to. My March has been more jammed and stressed than I could have ever imagined. But a big "thumbs up" to all the reviews. Several great westerns I planned to watch have already been mentioned. Doubt...
You're right. If that's being worked on, it could be The Alaskans. A couple of other possibilities would include Temple Houston and Bourbon Street Beat. Or WB Presents and Conflict. There were a few WB comedies that only lasted one season. An upgrade of The Dakotas (already released on DVD) or...
I’m sure there are, but I have to admit when I began this thread so long ago I would’ve never expected it to carry-on like it has.
So if we are keeping track for 2024 what if we got so far this year?
Already released:
The Abbott and Costello Show S2
Colt .45 Complete Series
Upcoming:
Angel...
Unfortunately, the extreme hectic nature of life has prevented me from creating a tribute to one of my favorite actors of all time, Ozzie Nelson. But I want to thank all of you that have gone to the trouble of writing up such wonderful tributes on his birthday!
in the meantime, I highly...
#2 - Colt .45 "Judgment Day" (1957 S1, E1)
Wayde Preston stars as government agent Christopher Colt. He poses as a salesman for the new Colt .45 revolver, as he travels to Cottonwood, Arizona. There are some strong Have Gun, Will Travel vibes at the outset as a scene from mid-episode plays...
