I saw it when it first aired and hated it. It bears as much relation to the original as Roy Rogers did to the moon landing.
Drek from the word go. If anything, this review is actually kind. I didn't see any 0 scores.
Buckaroo Banzai - once a year since the first home video (VHS, yay!) came out
Big Trouble in Little China (usually as part of a triple feature with Buckaroo Banzai and...)
Jake Speed (the third part of the B-movie triple feature with Buckaroo Banzai and Big Trouble)
Deadpool
The Wizard of Oz...
When I saw the earlier mention of The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd, I thought, 'What about Hooperman?' It debuted the same week as Molly Dodd and the two shows prompted the creation of the word dramedy.
Hooperman gave us some of John Ritter's best work but was way too hip for the room when it...
I've always had a soft spot for The Adventures of Hiram Holiday - a one-season wonder starring Wally Cox. I wish someone would put that out on DVD/Blu-ray.
I'm not sure I can give one favorite British series - there are several that I love: Doctor Who (since 1963), Department S and Jason King (someone should really put these out on home video) and The Prisoner are all right up there. Also The Avengers (from Police Surgeon through The New Avengers)...
Neverwhere: 15th Anniversary Edition. The commentaries [original by Neil Gailn, new by Gaiman, Lenny Henry and Clive Brill] are occasionally interesting, but the 25-minute interview with Gaiman is very illuminating. Also fun: Gailman's original character descriptions, and the Introduction to the...
Since my last post I've acquired a whole mess of stuff [about half are review copies, the rest are purchases]: The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.: The Complete Series, Eureka: Seasons 1-4.5, Warehouse 13: The Complete Second Season, Robotech: The Complete Series; Primeval: Volume Three...
I've acquired Haven: The Complete First Season, Damages: The Complete Third Season, Conan: The Adventurer: The Complete Series and Warehouse 13: Season Two. Haven S1 xomes with some good featurettes and twelve commentary tracks [12 commentaries, but two for each of two key episodes - ten of...
I've picked up a number of great sets recently: Burn Notice: Season Four, White Collar: Season Two, The Glades: Season One, Breaking Bad: Season Three, and The Big C: Season One.
Burn Notice is lacking when it comes to extras [one useless commentary; two 'roast' featurettes that are...
I just received the first three seasons of La Femme Nikita and just finished watching Vampire Knight: The Complete Series [which isn't really a complete series at all...].
Vampire Knight: The Complete Series - fairly intense anime´ series from Japan. Different take on vampires and an unusual school where human children study during the day and vampires study at night.
Cadfael: The Complete Collection was delightful and Prime Suspect: The Complete Collection was as dark & twisty as I remembered.
Both are absolutely first rate dramas. Pity about the dearth of bonus features, but the shows are so spectacularly good that that
really doesn't matter.
I got the amazon.ca/.com exclusive complete series package for The Unusuals. Love that show, but if it had continued, Jeremy Renner might not have done The Hurt Locker. Life is full of little trade-offs.
I also picked up Blue Murder: The Complete Collection, Prime Suspect: The Complete...
