MUBI has a “flash” years subscription sale @ $79 until Tuesday.
For those unfamiliar, it’s a streaming service. They specialize in international, independent and award wining films. A pretty good selection if you enjoy those genres.
Great price and fortunately in HD.
The Complete Three Stooges - all 190 original shorts - also on sale @ $25. But SD only.
For whatever reason, Sony still hasn’t released this in HD even though they remastered all films in HD. What are they waiting on? We need HD digital or no sale.
Blues Brothers 4K is $4.99 in Apple Store.
Has anyone bought it there? Because it appears that you have to buy the theatrical and extended versions separately!?! That’s unusual.
Are the bonus features the same on each?
Loved SCTV and have every DVD boxed set available. They are loaded with bonus material. One of the best bonus, is a long interview with Flaherty and Eugene Levy together. They are reminiscing production stories and cracking each other up in honest laughter remembering these things. Flaherty is...
Features 2 actors from the legendary comedy show, SCTV. Based on a recurring skit from that show. SCTV is in the top 5 of my favorite television comedies of all time about a fledging TV station and their idiotic television programs.
This film, based on the skit, expands and sometimes...
And I would also avoid renting movies from them too. I’ve rented movies on Amazon only to find they thought they should censor or edit something for me. Either provide the full movie or just don’t offer it.
Similar situation happened on the recent Mission Impossible box set sale. Finding it was difficult, but eventually found it.
It didn’t seem to be this way until the recent Apple TV update which I still haven’t done.
Well this will certainly add yet another layer of confusion to the general public….
Who are already confused by and don’t know the difference between Apple TV+, Apple TV box, the Apple TV app, the Apple TV app “Store” and now good old fashioned Apple TV+ with commercials.
Apple has the Warner Bros 25-film Award Winners Vol 1 at $19.99 with Unforgiven, Bonnie and Clyde, Ben Hur, Cool Hand Luke, Bullitt and more. A few in 4K. $0.80 each
Several I don't want in my collection (Purple Rain) or already own, so I may just get Cool Hand Luke @ $4.99. But a steal...
Not sure. However, it is available in digital HD from Apple TV. And it looks fantastic. Frequently on sale in the $19.99-$29.99 range so probably less than any discs will ever be, and available to be enjoyed now.
The Holdovers 4K with iTunes Extras on Apple TV at $9.99. Way down from $29.99.
Maybe it will go lower eventually, but as a big Alexander Payne fan, and not having seen this one yet, I’m buying.
I got it too. For $4.99, and having only watched the Quadrilogy Blu-ray once since I bought it, it was a no-brainer. I can't work up a sweat over a movie I may only watch once or maybe 2 or 3 times more in my lifetime. Especially when its 4K. I'm all in on digital and happy to leave behind...
It’s ridiculous to pay for the service then get those stupid promos.
But, instantly quit the promo, it returns to the show’s menu, then play again. The promo won’t play the 2nd time. The show starts immediately.
SD is a no sale then, no matter how good the price. Why isn't this at least available in HD? Frasier, and many other classic series, have been remastered in HD and on Blu-ray. So why are they being sold digitally in SD? Who is paying attention around there?
By the way, while it definitely...
Frasier, the complete series is $19.99 on Apple TV
But can’t determine if It’s 4k like it is on Paramount +. Is the Apple TV box set 4k for all seasons?
Thanks Ron. It is a classic for sure, and I agree I bet you thought I asked “how is the film”. But curious if anyone knows how the digital file looks. It’s been awhile since this came out on Blu-ray and hoping this digital file is a good one. I guess I should just go ahead and get it at...
Network (1976) is $4.99 HD (on Apple / Apple TV / iTunes / Movies / whatever they call it now)
Anyone own this? Is the file good? Would love this to upgrade to 4k.
