Those two titles would be Eastman color. I don't have any films now. I had 35mm of Blue Hawaii, Girls! Girls! Girls!, Fun in Acapulco, Roustabout, Frankie & Johnny, Paradise Hawaiian Style, Viva Las Vegas, Spinout, Tickle Me, and It Happened At The World's Fair. The first six were IB Tech.
It wasn't exactly two episodes of The Untouchables pieced together but actually two combined episodes of Westinghouse Desilu Playhouse. It could be considered more of a pilot for the TV series. Two movies that were episodes edited together were Alcatraz Express ("The Big Train" Parts 1 & 2) and...
I remember the Colt .45 episode "The Escape", with guest Adam West was one of the first 16mm TV shows I ever owned. In 1974, I had it shipped over to Germany where I was in the Army. I showed it to the guys up in the dayroom. What a great memory. It got me started in that super fun hobby. I...
For fans of Frankie Laine's movie titles, Hell Bent For Leather! is a great album. It features the themes from Gunfight, 3:10 To Yuma, High Noon, The Hanging Tree, and the most authentic version of Rawhide I've ever heard. It was arranged by John (Johnny) Williams. I grew up on this and Marty...
I couldn't disagree more about the title song. I love it so much years ago I figured out all the chords for guitar and sing it often!! Dimitri wins either way. ;) GATOKC and The Sons Of Katie Elder are my favorite Westerns.
I like Stella Stevens fine but her quote is a little ironic seeing that she ended up in stuff like Bikini Hotel and Megaconda.
However, this is a Spinout thread and the film looks BEAUTIFUL! One of the most colorful BDs ever.
I had a beautiful 35mm Technicolor print of Paradise Hawaiian Style. It was in the best condition of any of my ten Elvis films in 35mm. Paramount needs to get all of their Elvis films looking like Blue Hawaii!
George Feltenstein stated on this month's WB Archive podcast that the pre-orders for Spinout were "very. very empowering" and they will have more Elvis on Blu-ray in "the coming years". He starts discussing Spinout at about 35:00 in the link below.
I don't know but would love to see Girls! Girls! Girls! and Roustabout. I had a 35mm Technicolor print of G!G!G! and it had the best color of any film movie I ever had. It featured my favorite Elvis song, "Return To Sender", as well!
You summed it up well. "Little stories of entertainment". I am 71 years old and remember going to the Elvis films when they first came out. I can specifically remember going to Spinout in 1966 at the Helix theater here in town. I like the Beach Party movies as well. These types of films are...
i think Spinout is an enjoyable film. I'm glad the audio and video are excellent.
UPDATE: I received this today and watched it. This is one beautiful transfer. The color is bright and clean and it is super sharp. Flawless. Bravo Warner Archive!!
From DVDBeaver review it sounds like there is indeed a 5.1 track. He gives the bitrate. etc. in his review.
