I flipped the slipcover for the poster, my sister in law said Sergio Leone? Okay she’s aware of classic movies but I didn’t think she would be that aware super proud of her haha. 😀.
Got mine today. Have to agree with the positive response to this release. Colors are so much better than on the old release. There is still grain. The included 1080p Blu-ray still has it visible from NVD. I’m happy with it while could have been better I suppose this will suffice. This is one of...
The remake is better but…….something about seeing Vegas in the 60’s is alluring. Plus Sinatra adds some coolness to it but yes dated in other respects. The remake is the better movie especially with that twist haha.
Yep agreed. If he saw the film he might have a different opinion but then again sounds like his mind is already made up such a shame. This is the first I’ve heard anyone claiming this movie picked a side when most said and I agree that it doesn’t. I gave the poorly reviewed Argyle a chance and...
Had he saw the movie like me he’d understand that the movie doesn’t pick a political side. It’s more of an anti war film just put under a more modern lens. I found the character work really riveting and the finale quite good. More about the horrors of war. Shame some make judgements before...
Saw this on Apple TV with the wife. I liked it but……it’s really silly. The ending is really silly. I’ll give Matthew Vaughn credit….. Having said that the only way I can take that plus all the cliche spy twists this has is if it’s a movie making fun of all those cliche’s haha. I can see why the...
Yep very frustrating. I guess it was done purely for movie theaters. I look forward to watching The Abyss again. I’ve been waiting for a new format so glad it’s finally here.
I thought this was a great entry into this franchise. Funny when it wanted to be yet emotionally impactful for characters/situations. I wasn’t a fan of Fallout’s gloomy look so was happy to see a return to bold use of colors. This is easily the best of the bunch for me. I gasped a few times in...
Sad news to hear. When I was in high school I used to watch him in The Substitute 2 when it was on TV which was on quite a bit. The movie isn’t the best but he was quite good in it. Always like him.
So just compared them both have the correct aspect ratio but the Vudu has the same version as the Blu-ray while MoviesAnywhere has the slightly better version. Since it’s Fox/Disney if you buy off Vudu you should get it on MoviesAnywhere and iTunes with just the one purchase.
I figured I’d give this one a shot over the weekend since I have Paramount +. I personally have enjoyed every film Chazelle has directed so I thought I may like this one. I can see why there might be some focusing on the more extreme sequences so this one has less mainstream appeal compared to...
Robert I agree. The Halloween scene is etched in my memory. I tried to make the case that this was a Halloween movie to my wife but she wasn’t buying it. Read the book in high school and saw the film then too. Agree on Night of the Hunter too. Haven’t seen it in a while but remember the...
I once took an Amtrak from Portland to Seattle and liked it. As a big Bond fan I must see Atomic Blonde now! I picked it up a while back for cheap. I’ll catch Bullit Train soon looks entertaining like Robert mentioned.
Yep I agree. It has great depth to the image. While I have seen the film more than you the few jump scares still got me. Jaws still has its full force and intensity to it and really hasn’t aged for me at all. Great experience my crowd was nearly full.
I’m with you Robert. Getting the Kino version for my birthday and will reserve judgment once I see the bad boy in motion. I was told I could open it Friday which is a little early haha. I’ve always had a soft spot for this one! Caps can be useful but they don’t always tell the whole story. I’ll...
Nice. I have Pal Joey, and Some Came Running. Thankfully Sony finally released Pal Joey after the Twilight Time went out of print. Some Came Running has a very nice transfer which shouldn’t surprise anyone plus such a good film with possibly the best performance from Sinatra:) Ah yes The...
I’m far from an expert. I’m sure the 4K version looks great despite some of the issues that have been mentioned but I just prefer the look of the Blu-ray’s when it comes to the color timing. Plus I managed to get it during last years Black Friday for $10! I honestly only discovered these films...
I've only seen TMWTGG, GF, and FRWL. I didn't notice them being any brighter than their Blu-ray counterparts but TMWTGG looks way better and filmic though!
Agreed. Wasn't ready to go back either but luckily watched in my basement home theater set up. Can't say the music was really my cup of tea but it fits this movie perfectly. Loved the high energy of these sequences and excellent editing. I liked La La Land a tad better but that might be down to...
I noticed it on the iTunes version as well so I don't think it's a disc issue. However it doesn't effect my enjoyment of the film at all. In fact my Epson projector via Sony Blu-ray player handled it so well I probably wouldn't have noticed it if I wasn't looking for it. Any way this is night...
I like doing both. I trust physical more but there are good digital deals to be had especially if a title won't get a Blu-ray release. Great picture quality on this one!
