I’ve purchased quite a few French language Kino-Lorber discs from the 1950s-1990s and the reason I purchased them were the included audio commentary tracks.
Would there ever be a chance of Kino-Lorber releasing the 1960 Otto Preminger film “Exodus” on blu-ray or 4K UHD? I think it’s an underrated film. I would love to see it with an audio commentary track and some special features. I know that Twilight Time released it on blu-ray back in 2016.
I don't know if anyone reading this topic bought some discs to take advantage of the Cohen Media Sale that ends this morning. I picked up the 3 separate war documentary disc releases by Bernard Henri-Levy, as well as the pre-order of "The President's Analyst" (Kino). I already had a copy of The...
I really like Blood on the Sun, partly because I am a big James Cagney fan. But it is a very solid movie, well worth buying. And Julie Kirgo is wonderful for audio commentaries. I look forward to watching this movie with the commentary. Thank you to Kino-Lorber for releasing great movies that...
This is quite a brilliant political satire and comedy. Bravo to Kino-Lorber for giving this very underappreciated film a proper physical release with two audio commentaries, no less. I am definitely getting this one.
I don’t know if the blue-ray release of Michael Powell’s 1937 film The Edge of the World has been mentioned here when it was announced, but I wish to praise Kino-Lorber for such a fine release with so many great special features. It’s a lovely film.
I support Kino-Lorber because they always go the extra mile to release discs and include special features that will please fans even when the economics do not always warrant such efforts. That being said, I was never more excited and happy about a Kino-Lorber release than when I heard that...
I’ve seen this box set available online for under $70. It is an astounding value given the audio and video quality and 3 language tracks and 3 subtitle tracks. I would have liked audio commentary tracks for some or all of the episodes, and maybe some video featurettes, but overall it is an...
All great comments Benbess. I agree 100%.
I would also recommend the movie The Mortal Storm. There was a guy who had been imprisoned in Dachau who helped with the set design that portrayed the Dachau Concentration Camp in the movie. The movie itself was based on a novel by a woman who had run a...
Sometimes you gotta do that. I usually base my purchase decisions on the special features and audio commentary content. But I also like the superb video and audio quality of 4K UHD.
I will get the Audie Murphy sets so long as the movies have Audio Commentary tracks. I feel like Audie Murphy is an underrated actor. His Western films tend to vary in quality from good to very good.
I thank Kino-Lorber for releasing my favorite comedy “The Green Man” on blu-ray with a lovely quality. But I did not like the audio commentary by David Del Valle because he was not interested in the movie and did not hold it in high regard. He mostly just talked about the people involved in the...
This is wonderful. I always wanted to get the Olive Signature edition but this is even better. I purchased the 4K UHD edition of the 1978 remake in the last Kino-Lorber sale. I will get this one too.
It’s a wonderful thing when Kino-Lorber releases an excellent Blu-ray Disc of a great movie, and it sells so well that Kino-Lorber is able to then release an even better version on 4K UHD.
I think that the title suggests militant modern political feminism, which I personally despise and which is why it will have a strong negative connotation with some. But regardless of the title, it looks like this is a fantastic release and Kino-Lorber deserves the highest praise for Box Sets...
