It's nice to see some of these releases continue the trend of including animated shorts as a special feature. Some of these shorts haven't been on physical media, so hopefully this bodes well for a Looney Tunes Collectors Choice vol. 4

My guess is that they did standard DVD-R because it's a re-release of a previously done set. The archive definetly doesn't like doing standard definition blu-ray releases. IMO, this is a test to see if there is a market for Cartoon Network content.

Looks like Warner Archive is looking into more Cartoon Network content! Granted it's just a re-release, but it's nice to see regardless! I've also seen that Dexter's Labratory is getting released this year! Hopefully they can go back to more of these old releases that are out of print. I'd love...

My copy of Looney Tunes Collectors Choice Vol 3 came in last night. It's another fantastic set! I will continue to praise these sets for giving us a vast quantity of shorts from across the Looney Tunes library. It's always so much fun to see what will play next! I truly hope this is going to...

I've been really enjoying the Adult Swim block "Checkered Past" lately. It's truly revived my love for Cartoon Network cartoons. I wonder if there's any chance for Cartoon Network productions to get complete releases from the Archive. I'd love to own more of the library. I'd love to see the Ed...

I truly hope we get enough volumes to finish the Looney Tunes/Merrier Melodies library. There's roughly 350-375 shorts that still need a disc release! If they did need to take time in between volumes moving forward, perhaps another good idea would be to release later Looney Tunes content. I'd...

    Next Hanna-Barbera set?

He actually mentioned Alice in Wonderland on the podcast alongside the first cartoon package shows they did as his most wanted to get to disc. It's at the top of Warner Archives list from the Hannah-Barbara library to do, but George mentioned the movie has some very unique music rights.

    Next Hanna-Barbera set?

For those curious, George from Warner Archive was on this podcast to talk about Hannah-Barbara. He specifically mentioned by name wanting to do Ruff and Ready, Huckleberry Hound and Quickdraw Mcgraw all in their entirety in time! He mentioned that he has plans to do a lot more Hannah-Barbara on...

    Next Hanna-Barbera set?

So, the Extra's podcast with Warner Archive provided some interesting hints as to the future of Hannah-Barbara releases. They mentioned that the Hannah-Barbara Superstars 10 is the beginning of new releases from that library. They also mentioned that they are looking into television from across...

I couldn't agree with this more! This is exactly how they should approach the MGM shorts moving forward. I just don't want any of MGM's one shot or lesser known shorts to be missed. Mixing the Happy Harmonies with the remaining Tex Avery, HB and other shorts would be great way to get a 3-4...

Yeah it's pretty much just the 1950's Popeye shorts and various MGM series that still need a release. It's so nice to see animation from across the company being looked at! Barney Bear is at the top of my list, followed by the Happy Harmonies/assorted MGM shorts. On a side note, if we ever do...

What amazing news! All of this is good to hear! I'm glad Warner Archive is looking at the TV and cartoon libraries! It's so nice to hear that more Hanna-Barbera is coming. Hopefully we can get complete sets for some of the shows that have never been released. Ruff n Ready, Huckleberry Hound...

I really appreciate how you broke this down! I agree with you. The Archive should definitely finish up the 50's shorts with 3 sets. This is indeed the only volume they've released for the 60's cartoons. I'd love another 2-3 volumes to complete his 60's filmography!

Indeed! The 1960's cartoons are all made for television by various animation studios. In all, there are 220 cartoons under this series. Warner Archive did start releasing the series (it was even called Volume 1) and the release contained 72 cartoons. That being said, we've heard nothing about a...

Agreed! I always thought it was wierd that those 2 particular Tom and Jerry shorts were singled out considering the content in the whole series. Not to mention the fact that His Mouse Friday was included on the old releases, which imo is the most offensive of the original run. They've talked...

    Next Hanna-Barbera set?

I personally feel that the animal mascot esque characters are HB's most marketable characters after Scooby Doo. Touche Turtle is definitely not the most popular, but the fact that he's a classic HB animal character is a big boost to his potential sales. I do agree that other animal character...

Agreed! There's a lot of other random MGM cartoons that deserve a release as well. The MGM cartoon library has a lot of random gems in it. They could easily do a one volume release that compiles them.

Yes please! The remaining 1950's Popeye shorts are a high priority in my opinion. Next Hanna-Barbera set?

Yes please! Touche Turtle is, in my opinion, the best option for reviving the Hanna-Barbera physical releases. He has a decent amount of cartoons, but it's a single show and overall less work compared to some of the other unreleased shows (at least it should be, depending on the quality of the...
