I don't think The Three Stooges would be considered a cash cow title these days unlike Lawrence of Arabia or Close Encounters are.

Studios aren't releasing much of their own older back catalogue these days, boutique companies such as Shout Factory and Mill Creek are the ones doing that.

History and legacy is something Columbia is proud of, so we should see a good amount of their vast library get released before the end of this year.

Shout Factory would likely release The Three Stooges on blu as they licensed a lot of Columbia's back catalogue these past few years. Columbia last released anything of The Stooges was in 2016 for a complete DVD collection.
