Little Feat - Waiting For Columbus, MoFi Gold
Suzi Quatro - If You Knew Suzi , Vinyl
Alicia Bridges - Alicia Bridges, Vinyl
The Alicia Bridges album was a huge surprise.
The only song I knew "I Love the Night Life" so I was expecting a disco album.
Not so.
A very good record...
A real combination of obscure and rarely played discs from my collection:
The Stampeders - Ballsy
Mary Lee's Corvette - True Lovers of Adventure
Lloyd Cole - Plastic Wood
Paul Kantner - Blows Against the Empire Strange record, doubt I'll play it again. Tragically Hip - World Container With Bob Rock producing it's a different sound than I'm used from the Hip, which is good. But in the end it's yet another rather dull album from Canada's favortie domestic band...
Donald Fagen - Morph the Cat DVD-A Like most Steely Dan and Fagen albums you have to admire the sound and complexity of the music. But I find his albums, along with the later Steely Dan records, slightly boring.
Spent the long weekend spinning vinyl albums for the first time in a long time: Fosterchild - Troubled Child Lisa Dal Bello - Lisa Dal Bello Three Dog Night - Hard Labor Roberta Flack - First Take Chilliwack - Ridin' High Next up, Herb Alpert's Ninth
Michael Jackson - Hello World
This is the 3 disc Hip-O Select set of MJ's 4 early 70's solo albums done for Motown before he moved to Epic.
(Got To Be There, Ben, Music & Me and Forever Michael).
Also includes the tracks from Farewell My Summer Love and Looking Back To Yesterday, both were...
This is what I've played today so far:
The Guess Who - Wheatfield Soul The Cure - Seventeen Seconds The Boomers - What We Do next up, Sergio Mendes - Equinox
Best of Simple Minds SACD Found myself enjoying the later, less familiar, material on disc 2 much more than expected. Definitely a leap in sound quality too from the older songs on disc 1. Though I did not realize until I read the album details on their website (the booklet with the discs is...
The Who - Tommy (SACD) Despite hearing bits and pieces on the radio over the years I had never heard the album in its entirety. Maybe I was put off by the length or over exposure. Well I am blown away. What a great record :) And it sounds amazing on SACD. Plenty of space, it never sounds...
Also played American Beauty today, ON DVD Audio
Other discs today (all on DVD Audio):
Alice Cooper - Billion Dollar Babies
Neil Young - Road Rock
Yes - Magnification
The Guess Who - Let's Go
A collection of reccordings made by the band when they were on the weekly CBC music show called, of course," Lets' Go"
Recording a bit spotty on some tracks but definitely worth having for any Guess Who fan.
