A new store opened in a town ~15 minutes away (part of our MSA). It's larger, a nicer store, and is stocked from a different warehouse (greater variety/better shipments/updates). The store here has gone significantly downhill since that opening. At the moment, there are a half dozen ceiling...
I got a Classic Lemonade, put it in the fridge to chill, and my oldest granddaughter sniped it from me!!! Yes, I gave her grief... In all fairness, it *is* her favorite flavor and I neglected to hide it (didn't know they were coming over) so it was up front and center when she went to the...
Ginger/Lime is my favorite (I've never seen it at BL though), Cherry Limeade, Lemon, Grapefuit, Grape/Raspberry (rare at BL), and Crisp Apple (rare at BL) are all good. The seasonal Cranberry one is also very good.
I'd not planned to go to BL this weekend, free disc or not, but my wife's been making Hot Chocolate Bombs to sell at a small furniture store where she works part time and was in danger of running out of mini-marshmallows. So... off to BL we go.
I snagged my free disc (the BR of The 5th Wave -...
Some of that Asylum cash-in stuff is better than the movie it piggy backed on. I'd rather watch the Asylum's version of "War of the Worlds" than the "running-yelling-screaming followed by more running-yelling-screaming" version Spielberg made any day.
Almost all of those TV sets were cleared out here a couple of weeks ago. I think there was 1 or 2, and nothing I'd want so didn't get titles, when I was there last weekend. They had *nothing* new and have had *nothing* new for 4-8 weeks now.
I went to BL on the way home after work - no ILL. They *did * have a few more TVonDVD mega season packs.
Charmed S6-8 (I think - it was the last part of the series) for $10. That was tempting just to get a more compact set (I have the early digipak releases). That's the only one I truly...
Some individual TV seasons are reported being found:
$3 each:
Becker: Season 1
Ghost Whisperer: Season 1
Joan of Arcadia: Season 1
$5 each:
The Affair: Season 1
Andy Griffith Show: Season 8
Beverly Hillbillies: Season 2
Criminal Minds: Season 4
Criminal Minds: Season 5
Criminal Minds: Season 8...
They had a whole bunch of new BR titles on display a few days ago. I was in a bit of a hurry so didn't make a list. The one that stuck out most was S2 of Continuum on BR for $5. I didn't see S1 so don't know if they have it or not.
I went back to burn off that 20% off "any day use" coupon and picked up the Lavern & Shirley S1-5 and The Streets of San Francisco S1-3 sets for $13/each after tax. I was going to get a copy of the MacGyver set but didn't see any. They'd apparently restocked as there were a few copies of The...
Nice deal.
I already own 4 of the 5 movies on BR and reviews I've read indicate the Shout! pressing is the same transfers so I'm not truly interested (I'm not a special features guy so those have zero attraction). The 3rd movie in the original series just isn't that good and my DVD of it is...
And the store here hasn't gotten (or hasn't put out) anything new since BF. I was there yesterday and they have the same stuff they had out after BF. Even the few BF titles they had appear to have been sold.
I used to hide stuff there all the time and switched up hiding spots just in case. Back when their BF sales were *really* good I knew one of the stockers well enough that a couple of days before the sale she'd take me into the store room to let me look through the boxes and pull out what I...
They have stacked in past sales. Just be careful as they take the 20% off *first* then the coupon. I failed to take that into account the last time I did the stacking sales bit and cost myself $10 (the 20% off took the total under $75 so I only got $5 - all I needed was another ~$4 of stuff to...
In Old Arizona is a great movie - absolutely worth $1.50! I think my copy was $5 some time back.
I recently picked up the Steelbook Alex Ross cover The Mummy (1932) for $5 (originally a BB exclusive). It was purchased solely for the box/cover (I already own 2 BR copies). There are reports of...
I purchased it on DVD several years back. It's worth a viewing if you like horror and werewolf movies. It's not bad and I recall liking it a bit better than the Universal attempt at relaunching the Wolf Man franchise in 2010.
I picked up Krampus a from BB a couple of BF sales back - paid $5. I still haven't made time for it. My 7yo granddaughter practically begs me to watch it as she's fascinated at a Christmas themed horror movie. Thing is, I need to test her with some of the Universal Horror movies and then...
There's only one here with the next closest store ~70 miles away. But they usually have a good selection and get most of what gets talked about in this thread. I miss the "glory days" when I'd go in several times a week just to look and rarely left empty handed. Now I go in about once a week...
Because those singles are "steel book" affairs with artwork done by Alex Ross. I'd pay $5/each for 'em just for the packaging. Yes, I own all the Legacy BR sets (and twice on DVD and several singles).
I posted this in another, non related thread, but it bears repeating since it's BL specific.
Those $5 off $15/$15 off $75 reward coupons stack. I knew they stacked with a 20% off F&F sale but had a couple that were about to expire (one a purchase reward and the other a donation reward but I'd...
I stumbled upon $5 BRs of Rebel Without A Cause and The Deer Hunter, a pair of movies I've never seen. Of course I purchased them!
There were also several copies of the 2-fer of A League of Their Own/The Natural for $3. There's supposed to be a UV code inside with will redeem both movies...
Still nothing "new" here. :( I've looked a few times for those TCM sets but no luck. I have most of the ones in which I'm interested but at that price there are a few I'd get for just one film.
I miss having a store connection to get up-to-date information on what's in the back.
I swung by today to find the manager pulling The Office S3, 4, & 5 on DVD for markdown to $5 and The Office S6 (BR only of this one) on BR is going down to $2.10, he said a "temp price" and wasn't happy about that as he has to figure out how to display it being a short term markdown. He, like...
