This is in Kingsland, Ga. The sets were built using the original Design blueprints. The only set not built that I could see was McCoy's office (lab table, diagnostic table with the built in push pedals). They have engineering. It was really cool.
I had the opportunity to visit the standing sets that recreated the original series for use in the fan series, Star Trek Continues. My 10 year old self was extremely pleased. Highlight: sitting in the center seat.
Been cherry picking episodes since Picard has been on the air. I started with the obvious ones, "I. Borg", "The Measure of A Man", "Descent Part 1 and Part 2".
Today I went back and viewed TOS "The Ultimate Computer" to refresh myself concerning Dr. Daystrom. I guess he recovered from his...
1. TOS
2. DS9
Then there is the rest. I watched them all and like them all for different reasons. None really stand out and fall in the replay arena like the above listed series.
I was so surpised when I found that tape for rental at Blockbuster. I rented all the Star Trek they had as well as a couple of episodes of Outer Limits I had seen on TNT.
"No more blah, blah, blah!!!"
I liked it when I was younger, thought Miri was cute. Guess I was about 11. Janice wants the Captain to look at her legs, so did I. Only part that I really like in that one. :D
Checked out the first episode and was surprised to see that Michael Forrest reprised his role as Apollo. This "fan" series seems to have spent a great amount of love and care in recreating the original era. There were actually times I could almost believe I was watching original Kirk. Story...
I remember enjoying "A Piece of the Action". I liked the humor in this one - Fizzbin, Spock with a tommygun trying to be a yes man ("Right!"), Kirk trying to drive and to sound like a mobster, nearly as funny as "Tribbles". I was probably around 9 when it first aired and tried to remember how...
I recently purchased the Complete DS9 rerelease and persuaded my son to watch it. He was fascinated by the big rock that opens the show when he was a toddler (born 1993 - now 24). I have told him before that it is my favorite Trek series (original fan here). He has enjoyed TNG and he walked...
I second that remark. I purchased this set when it became available and was very impressed with the overall quality of these season 1 episodes. I have heard that it only gets better in the following seasons. We are still waiting word on whether those will become economically feasible for...
I also noticed that.
I am 59 and I enjoyed Beyond. I am an original fan and found the movie to be very "Trek"-y until the films climax. I didn't buy the villians motivation or find it all that original. I did enjoy the nods to the original series.
I am still waiting on a truly original...
I watched The Man Trap this afternoon before I came to work. Not the best, but certainly not the worst. Will try to watch Balance of Terror before I turn in.
Happy Anniversary to a show that has been such a huge part of my 58 years.
