Yes, is it free? Cinemark was $9.99/month but had options to get additional tickets for $6.99 which was a great deal for us. Plus discounted concessions, etc.
Is the Regal plan free? Cinemark closed their closest theater to me and I will probably drop it and am looking to Regal as they have several screens near me.
This popped up in my Facebook Memories today. It was the last movie we saw with my CineMark Rewards before COVID shut everything down. My comment today: PLEASE don't let this be the last movie I ever see in a theater!
I work for Starbucks. We haven't been able to refill coffee in previously used cups OR personal cups for weeks. We are told it's a temporary measure, but at this point, who knows?
I'm sure the theaters will experience the same hesitation that large attractions and airlines did after 9/11. There will be those that either permanently or temporarily stop going "because it could happen again" and those that will go because "I can't live my life in fear."
I'm in Chicago. As with you, it's my local theater (15 minutes away). While I also like the matinee times/prices, my partner is an evening moviegoer so it saves us on his ticket and our concessions. Perfect for us.
It's official. I'm a CineMark Rewards member! We went to see Maleficent last night (just going to see a movie) and I thought that even for myself the $8.99 a month was a deal. Going to see Judy on Tuesday night!
Cinemark (mostly mid-west, I think) has a program for $8.99/month for one 2D showing, 20% off concessions, $8.99 "buddy pass" offer, and a surcharge for 3D, etc. that runs around $3. Only 15 minutes away and the place is really nice.
I had the pleasure of checking out the second CMX Cinema Theater in the US to see Mamma Mia! Spacious theater, NO CONCESSION COUNTER, all food/drink (from popcorn to steak dinners) are via servers. At $18 for the ticket I would have been better off seeing it in the city! (Chicago)
If I recall, the initial news reports stated that customers had to buy a three month plan to "guarantee" the current price. My guess is that it will go up.

Interesting article on the sustainability of MP.
If you offer only two sizes they can't be "medium" and "large". Medium means "middle", implying there is something smaller than it. Rename them "Regular" and "Large".
Josh, without quoting your entire post, I agree. And the bigger problem for a film lover like me is the demise of the "little film" rental. Let's face it: Redbox has basically the latest/biggest titles. And for as much as I preferred the mom and pop video stores, Blockbuster put many (not all)...
I'm going to look into this to see about theaters in my area that participate. Now that I live in Chicago I miss the Marcus Theaters' of Wisconsin and their $5 Tuesday movies.
