Undercrank Productions will bring to BLu-ray new 2K restorations of two early Tom Mix westerns: Sky High (1922) and The Big Diamond Robbery (1929). The double-feature release is scheduled to arrive on the market on July 11.
I haven't looked at the above posts to see if this has been discussed. I just watched UNDER WESTERN STARS and compared it the DVD...the BD looks beautiful. The BD is 105 minutes and the DVD is 53 min. The BD has the Republic logo front and back including saying a Republic Production.
The DVD...

Great! That's one of the titles I wanted off Amazon, but it was so expensive, $70-90. I'd hate to watch it and not own it physically.
Oh, and eBay wants $108-135...I wonder why someone thinks it's so rare?
WALL STREET COWBOY was not soft. The opening titles are soft but the rest has a pretty good picture. Especially upscaled to 4K.
FRONTIER PONY EXPRESS was pretty good, including picture wise. As it progressed, the picture got a lot better. They even included the card, "SPONSOR'S MESSAGE" at the...
Just purchased from Amazon RARE ROY ROGERS MOVIES VOL.5. It has 4 movies, but I needed 3 of them for my collection. The other two volumes are in my queue and hoping they'll go down in price. This volume dropped from $20 to $10, so I grabbed it.
The movie I watched today was: EYES OF TEXAS. Run...
Here are DVDs that contain quite a few of his movies that sell on Amazon.
1-ULTIMATE ROY ROGERS COLLECTION-28 movies
2-THE ROY ROGERS COLLECTION-20 movies
3-ROY ROGERS-12 movies
4-ROY ROGERS-KING OF THE COWBOYS-20 movies.
Of course, some will be doubles, some are pretty darn good and some...
Not a Trucolor, but I just watched Film Detective Restored Version of ROMANCE ON THE RANGE issued 1/20/2017. Run time is 53 min. instead of 63 min (package even says 63 min.). No Republic logo at the beginning, soft picture, etc. DON"T BUY!!! Buy the Rare Roy Rogers Movies Vol. 4. Its run time...
Just viewed "Bells of San Angelo" from Film Detective and compared it to the version from the Roy Rogers Collection (20films) from Mill Creek and it looks like they used the same source.
Jumps and scratches are in the same spots and run time almost identical, 75:19 for Film Detective and 75:17...

Just viewed BELLS OF SAN ANGELO from Film Detective Restored Classic and it was just beautiful! Run time was correct with the beginning credits of Republic. The other 3 copies of it on different labels are almost completely washed out. Not sure if this print is from 16mm or 35mm.
The sky is...
Okay, here's my mini review of The Film Detective Restored Classic taken from a 16mm archive print of Roy Rogers "SPRINGTIME IN THE SIERRAS" in Trucolor.
The movie ran at 73:59 minutes, progressive, in color and the sound offered no distortion and opened with the Republic logo. It was a tad...
Well, just got it and it says, "Restored from the original, rare 16mm archive print and digitally remastered." And is 75 min. long which is the correct running time.
Tomorrow it gets viewed and I'll report back!
I now have 51 out of 87 movies that he starred in, 6 not out and that leaves me with 30 to get, which I'm not going to.
Should have the Film Detective version to-day to A&B.
I'll have it this Monday, do a compare and post my findings. This will tell us if it's worth the other 11 they have for sale. None of the reviews on Amazon are for any of those 12.
I forgot that I almost bought the Film Chest version, which could be this version...since the same guy started...
Just looked them up on Amazon. There are 12 releases, all the correct run times and 3 are in color (Springtime in the Sierras-75min, Under California Stars-70 min and Bells of San Angelo-78 min) and cost $10 ea. I already have all 12 of them on DVD, so if I had to pick one to see how it was, I'd...
