FWIW, I've been using brush cleaning discs for at least 25 years and never had a problem. However, I don't use them habitually. My UB820 developed a problem playing some discs, especially UHD, at least a year ago. I ran the cleaning disc 3-4 times, and it's been fine ever since. Like a lot...
