I bought Aliens for $5 from Apple. As it's an MA title, I've checked it out on MA and Vudu. I'm pleased to say the SE of Aliens on Vudu is DV and DA.

Have you looked at Movies Anywhere recently? Mine only shows the SE and when I click on it it says I might be interested in the theatrical, which is no longer in my MA library.

They're supposed to be in Atmos.

In the plus column, the Atmos tracks on Apple and MA have been updated to have the correct dialogue on the SE.

Tinkering with this movie on digital continues. I purchased this from Apple the day it went on sale. I only have one listing in Movies Anywhere now and it's for the SE in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. I no longer have the theatrical on MA. On Vudu I only have one listing now as well. It's for...

My advice is to disconnect Apple from MoviesAnywhere and reconnect it.

Here's today's Abyss update. The Vudu SE is now 4K and Dolby Vision but 5.1 only. This isn't so bad as the 5.1 mix seems to be the correct SE mix. The SE Atmos mix has some bits from the theatrical mix.

The Abyss SE is now a separate listing on Vudu. It's connected to my Movies Anywhere, but Vudu, for now, only has it in HD and 5.1.

So close to getting this right. Maybe it'll upgrade soon. Once they get The Abyss sorted do you think they'll move onto Aliens?

If you purchased this from Apple, you can disconnect and reconnect to MoviesAnywhere and both versions will play in 4K with Dolby Vision and Atmos.

Well now that that's done I get the SE in Dolby Vision and Atmos and the SE in HD and 5.1 and no theatrical cut on Apple. I take it this is what everyone else is experiencing, right?

Would signing in and out of Apple work?

When viewed solely via your Apple TV library on your Apple TV device are both versions still HD and 5.1? That's how it's been for me.

This is what I see when I search for the title on my Apple TV. Note the SE running time and both Dolby logos. I've confirmed this is the SE and it plays in both Dolby Vision and Atmos. Happy New Year!

This is hinky. The Abyss (both versions) in my Apple library play in HD and 5.1 but when I search for the movie and play it from that menu it's the SE in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. The menu screen even shows a running time of "2 hr 51 min."

Slow down. Yes, the release could have been handled better, but "The Abyss" is a Movies Anywhere title. I bought it from Apple shortly after it became available and yes, it was only the theatrical cut without any extras. However, it ported over to MA and Vudu and all of the extras were on those...
