    Restored "The Searchers" in 70mm

Might be nice to post a link to the website when we use their pictures: https://in70mm.com/presents/1954_vistavision/1956_searchers/scan/index.htm The posted jpgs are quite helpful and remind me that I need to keep an eye out for theatrical screenings for The Searchers.

    Restored "The Searchers" in 70mm

Just pointing out that it was covered in some detail in that link. Also there sadly seems to be little of that luxury afforded to productions that do not happen to belong to one of the major studios as some of the Cinerama and Bronston movies show. This seems to be even more true in Europe...

Agreed on digital only not being safe at all but did you read the interview I linked to? They speak about the film-based assets and that they are in different loacations etc including ones that were produced just now. I still have LD, Muse Hi-Vision, HD-DVD and D-Theater / D-VHS and (Super-)...

    Restored "The Searchers" in 70mm

Very nice but those 70mm prints weren't too shabby either.

    Restored "The Searchers" in 70mm

Was that Williamsburg: The Story of a Patriot? I know a cinema technician who considered getting a 35/8 projector for many years but he could not find anything to use it with as even faded 35/8 prints are extremely rare and so he dropped the idea.

    Restored "The Searchers" in 70mm

Once it is digital a movie may as well stay that way but then it is nice to get some 70mm prints from time to time that are not from Lawrence or 2001! 35/8 is kind of cool but not sure where to find the movie theater with a projector to screen it for a larger audience.
