The late Elwe Yost of Canada also interviewed Dunn, standing in front of his miniature for the IAMMMMW finale's apartment building. The segment was part of a PBS compilation series entitled THE MOVIEMAKERS. Atlantis/Alliance now owns all the Elwe Yost interview footage (a phenomenal library).

No offense taken, I assure you. I saw MAD WORLD in '72 for the first time. Spectacular. Even in Mamaroneck. I've seen fellow collectors' 35mm IB prints and I've seen MGM's later 35mm prints (to quote Buddy Hackett - "Yeeushh, what happened to yewww!"). I was very pleased with the Reade print...

I can only imagine that someone mixed up Howard da Silva with Howard St. John or Howard MacNear, both of whom would have been likely candidates for such a role. Brown and Carney did, of course, reunite in Disney's THE ABSENT MINDED PROFESSOR.

Well, Bruce, I guess I'm not as discriminating as some others, nor am I any kind of an expert when it comes to 70mm. I certainly noticed the out-of-frame changeover but was so amazed that they corrected it right away (most NYC operators would leave it that way for the entire reel!!!) that I...

The print I saw at Walter Reade was NOT extremely dark, nor was it muddy. A tad heavy in contrast in a couple of reels, but not so that only an aficionado would notice. It was very sharp. And very enjoyable except for the aforementioned phantom advance tracks (again - probably only Richard...

Well, this version originally had no intermission - correct? If they stick in the intermission then I have no objection to the police calls being heard (once) while folks wait for the seats to fill up again. When I play the film (I have a 16 IB/Scope) I use the intermission. It's the only...

Well, frankly, I think more people will hear them as an ent'racte. Anyway, I don't know Mr. Reade and I wouldn't want to presume to tell him how to run his thee-ayter. But thanks for the heads-up Pete. Looking forward to it! AFTER SCREENING: First of all, my wife was in hysterics during the...

I'm going to the Lincoln Center show tonight and I am delighted that they're showing the general release version. My wife is going with me and the faux reconstruction is NOT for civilians. It's fine to have on video for reference, but brevity IS the soul of wit - even 154 minutes of brevity...
