Star Wars takes place in a single Galaxy that exists within a Universe containing trillions of Galaxies, including our own. Travel between galaxies is not something that is done (except apparently in this unique situation).

I’ve read somewhere that there would be a time jump mid-season. Can’t find that source at the moment. But it is likely to cover a greater span of time due to that if accurate.

Great to hear this officially announced! I’m only half way through season 2 of Clone Wars, but I love the character. Dawson’s portrayal in The Mandalorian was great, and I’m excited to see much more of her.
