In the Making of TMP book, it's mentioned how many of the alien extras in the Starfleet Command scene were costumed using leftover fabrics from the Ten Commandments, so that scenario is very likely! Pity most of the TMP aliens ended up on the cutting room floor...
Did anybody catch The Green Hornet marathon on SciFi today? Jeffrey Hunter and Paul Carr turn up in consecutive episodes, and even Mr. Atoz himself, Ian Wolfe appears in one. I'd bet some more TOS vets are in the ones I missed today.
I had to wonder when some online "fans" were belittling similar efforts to save Enterprise, if they had any knowledge of the fandom's history at all.
Seeing those photos makes me wish there was a documentary focusing on those early days, while the original "trekkies" are still around to...
This is probably old news, but I was watching the Outer Limits episode, "The Production and Decay of Strange Particles" tonight on Thistv, and one of the radiation suits looked familiar! Turns out the padded vest and helmet are worn by an unlucky Enterprise crewman in "The Man Trap". One of the...
Anybody ever see this behind the scenes photo before? I thought it was worth sharing here. And no, it's not my auction.

Shatner demonstrates the Vulcan nose...
It's the Shatner Turbo 2000!
Let's see who remembers where that came from. /img/vbsmilies/htf/biggrin.gif
And Nelson, I used to record episodes in the 70's by putting a cassette recorder near the tv speaker. I think the Doomsday Machine soundtrack is permanently etched in my brain as...
Great find, Nelson! Seeing those pictures reminded me of this commercial.
This is what the 2009 movie sets should have looked like. /img/vbsmilies/htf/smiley_wink.gif
The custom maps are what keeps Elite Force interesting after all these years. I spent weeks simply exploring the Starbase 11 map. Someone has made new Captain Proton missions recently as well. I really need to reinstall the game!
There is a little bit of TOS in the original game too...
Just out of curiosity, Nelson, have you ever played Elite Force? It's an FPS game based on Voyager, and the expansion CD allowed you to roam a good chunk of the ship just looking around. (There are some fan made TOS maps for it too.) It's as close as you can get to walking those sets until...
I remember the good doctor's secret, but will let someone else answer.
In the meantime, here are the TOS movie appearances I know of. Feel free to add to the list.
Taps (1981)
Koyaanisqatsi (1982)
(Blink and you'll miss it, unless you go frame by frame!)
Bill and Ted's...
I did see the BW Gilligan's Island back in the day. Although my memory of it is that it was shown at different times than the color episodes.
I'm going to start listing the TOS appearances I know of if nobody has any others they recall?
I fear if I pick the up LIS DVD sets now, Fox will announce Blu Ray versions the following day. I still drool over those beautifully packaged Japanese Laserdisc box sets once in a while. (Chock full of photos and blueprints.) Wish I could afford them.
I was thinking up another brainteaser...
Thanks, Ockeghem. It's fun to play "spot the recycled sets and props" especially with Irwin Allen shows.
For some reason I never saw the first season of LIS until the mid 80's. I don't know if they simply were not syndicated before that, or there was some silly bias against black and white...
No problem, Nelson. I'm surprised it was still around. Most of the other cool LIS sites I bookmarked years ago seem to have vanished.
I don't know if it was a conscious thing with Irwin Allen, but nearly all his shows were set in the near future as opposed to TOS, which was at least a...
If you've ever seen the TOS skit SNL did in '75, there is a line about selling the Enterprise sets to Lost In Space.
My understanding is that a lot of consoles and props ended up in a prop rental warehouse. A dedicated fan got his hands on enough of the Jupiter 2 hardware to rebuild part...
Yes. They are one and the same. The floor panels in them light up, and you can spot those panels in "The Empath".
They did try to disguise them though.
Check out the screencaps over at Trekcore.

The...
Pretty darn sure. I don't think it's ever been written about because either nobody else has spotted it, or nobody wants to admit something from LIS was used on Trek./img/vbsmilies/htf/smiley_wink.gif
It's much bigger than a breadbox, and likely only ended up being available for TOS to use...
I am pretty sure they were custom items made for the show.
Those TOS chairs do get around though. Didn't they end up at the Brady Bunch dinner table? (Without the cushioned backs.) What looks like an original TOS chair pops up in at least one early TNG episode.
Interesting guesses, but not what I'm thinking of. Although I could swear the Providers' brains were on The Outer Limits first.
Let me know when to start dropping hints.
Not what I'm thinking of, but now that I look at it, I see what you mean. It looks for all the world like a faucet handle or hubcap part.
At least the "ion propulsion" it had inspired some NASA guys to develop the real thing when they grew up. Which proves even bad Trek episodes can...
An opportunity to see all the original TOS cast films in L.A. this summer.
