I also thought there was virtually no humor in the film. The funniest parts were her jokes, which were great. The tone is so dramatically different from the original that it’s jarring. I mean was this really the best they could come up with? I so wanted to love this film. Perhaps my expectations...

This part I agree with. She is going to be a major star. Although as great as she is, she wasn’t enough to make the film work for me.

I thought it was an epic disappointment. So much potential and so little payoff. Wow. I’m so bummed right now. :(
