I got One False Move today.

I picked up Targets and Thelma And Louise and I pre-ordered After Hours and One False Move.

The DVD/Blu-ray/UHD section just recently shrunk at my local store to one bay of Criterion discs mounted on the wall 'hidden' near the back. I haven't been to the store yet (there's nothing I want until November 22) but I doubt they have signage for the sale because there's nowhere to place it.

I was at my local store today so I pre-ordered the UHDs of Mulholland Drive, Citizen Kane, Menace II Society, and Uncut Gems. I'm curious to see if my store even stocks the UHDs but if they don't, I'm still good to go.

Now that I think of it, The Signifyin' Works Of Marlon Riggs is in a 'slipcase style' package too. I don't know what the proper name of the case is but it's the same style as their Silence Of The Lambs release or the Scorsese movies like The Irishman or Rolling Thunder Revue.

Out of what I bought that was released this year, The Furies was in a box and the rest were standard Criterion cases.

I didn't get the extra 10% in store this morning either. Personally, I buy plenty of stuff in there that makes my membership still worth it but it'd certainly be nice to get another $2 off of all the Criterions I buy there.

Thanks for the heads up! I was thinking the sale started on Monday so I made a quick unplanned trip to B&N when they opened and grabbed Parasite.

I was thinking the same thing. However, the sale has occasionally been extended for a week.

It's generally on the 15th of the month (or the closest week day) so the October announcements should be this Wednesday. Personally, I'm hoping for I Walked With A Zombie or some other horror title.

Out of the 12 or 15 titles that I want, that's the only one that I think I may have trouble getting. Worst case scenario, I think the Criterion.com sale is in September. :)

According to Barnes And Noble's site, the sale is over on August 2. I'd assume you'll see some stuff come back in stock over the course of the sale.

I would assume that the one next month is still going to happen. I can't imagine that they'll immediately micromanage things like a sale. After that, who knows.

I'm a big fan of The Breakfast Club and that's an excellent disc. Criterion has done some nice work this year (The Silence Of The Lambs, Night Of The Living Dead, the Dietrich/von Sternberg set) but I'd say that The Breakfast Club is their best release that I've seen.

The irony is that I probably get one or two e-mails a day that are obviously crap (boner pills, Russian mail order bride) and what I actually want manages to not even make it to my junk mail folder.

My understanding is that the coupons are for everyone. Especially since they're basically an incentive to go there and spend money. Now curiosity is piqued enough that I think I'll give them a call.
