7) Duel at Diablo (1966) (iTunes HD Streaming) 2.5/5 stars - I haven't seen this film in at least 20 years, and unfortunately I found it to be not nearly as good as I remembered. James Garner and Sidney Poitier are great whenever they're on-screen, but even their talent and bankable...
Yeah, I've been enjoying your posts about the Sartana and Django films, Scott. I'll probably try to get one of those in today, and I've also got Duel at Diablo in my queue.
Well, due to circumstances beyond my control I haven't managed to get in nearly as many films as I'd planned for this challenge. We have a cool, rainy day here in Phoenix, so hopefully I can squeeze a couple more under my belt before midnight rolls around.

6) The Night of the Grizzly (1966) (Blu-ray Disc) 3/5 stars - Director Joseph Penvey's film plays out much like a glorified TV movie, with its main draw sitting squarely on the shoulders of Clint Walker. The affable Walker plays Marshal "Big Jim" Cole, a Utah lawman who gives up the...
March 10:
5) One-Eyed Jacks (1961) (Blu-ray Disc) 4/5 stars - Marlon Brando's sole directorial effort, One-Eyed Jacks is an interesting film that feels a bit like a soap opera in places and could have used more aggressive editing, being hobbled somewhat by a meandering plot that eventually comes...

4) High Noon (1952) (Blu-ray Disc) 5/5 stars - Undoubtedly great and my favorite Gary Cooper film, there's not much I can say about High Noon that hasn't already been said by folks who are far more learned in the genre than I. It is superb in every way - direction, cinematography...

3) Lone Star (1996) (4K UHD Disc) 4/5 stars - Director John Sayles' great noirish western murder mystery set in the border town of Frontera, Texas just received a very nice 4K release from Criterion. When Sheriff Sam Deeds (Chris Cooper) initiates an investigation after the discovery...

2) Decision at Sundown (1957) (4K UHD Disc) 4/5 stars - One of the "Ranown" westerns co-produced by Randolph Scott and directed by Bud Boetticher, this film is part of The Ranown Westerns 4K UHD collection released by the Criterion Collection last year. I'd owned the Indicator Blu-rays...

1) Gunfight at the O.K. Corral (1957) (4K UHD Disc) 4.5/5 stars - Since I just received the new KL 4K disc release I decided to start with one of my faves. Burt Lancaster and Kirk Douglas are both at the heights of their respective careers here, and this beautifully shot and directed...
I'll hold this spot for when I actually get started. Looking forward to it, Robert!
