Genesis - Invisible Touch. Not crazy about the title track and a couple of others. Not that they're bad, just not crazy about them. Domino and The Brazilian more than make up for it though. The whole disc also sounds kind of high pitched, almost harsh, compared to most other things I listen to...
I'm some-what of a Yes fan (compared to those who are fanatics) and of huge fan of concert dvd's. But Yes has so many dvd's I was never sure which is the best. I'll have to give Union Live a listen.
"RE: TR - BTTB I have it on CD from when it was first released in the US I am thinking on...
I hadn't looked for it in years but I didn't think it was available on cd except as an expensive import. It looks like Amazon has it on pre-order as a $18 import. Still not sure I like it enough to pay that, but listening to it again did bring back memories. Sometimes things aren't quite as...
Pulled out an old album, Todd Rundgren's Back To The Bars. A live double album. First 3 sides are so-so but side 3 is actually pretty darn good. Full of scratches, though :( .
Not listening to anything right now. Getting ready for work. But Firefall was a great band for a short while with quite a bit of history. They're connected to the Byrd's, Buffalo Springfield, Poco, CSN, Linda Ronstadt (wasn't everybody?), The Flying Burrito Bros and the Eagles (Timothy B...
Fleetwood Mac: Rumours. One of the better DVD-A's released. Love Gold Dust Woman. The extras are pretty good too. I'm a pretty big fan of music in surround sound but this time I que'd up the 96k stereo layer.
I've been listening to Steely Dan's Aja over and over again for a few hours as I compare 3 receivers and a pre-pro for sound quality and function/usability. What a great album.
Of course, Panarama, Dimension and Center Width. I haven't thought about those for a couple of years. I remember fooling around with those with my H/K 435. They did make a noticable difference. Un-fortunately the matching DVD-47 (excellent sounding player) wouldn't play any of the few 192/24...
Hey Paul, care to share some of those "tweaks" with us? I don't fool with those fake 5.1's too much either but once in a while I will.
Also, I find PLII softens the top end a bit compared to Neo:6. Neo:6 doesn't seem to send as much to the surrounds as PLII so I up the rear volume a little...
Steve Hackett's Please Don't Touch. I was disappointed when he decided to leave Genesis but at least he gave us some very pleasant, if a bit different, albums to enjoy in the years afterwards.
I recently bought this on cd just for sh*t's and giggles and it wasn't as good as I remember or as bad as I feared. But how we all believed the rumers that they were the Beatles re-united is beyond me /img/vbsmilies/htf/rolleyes.gif"> . What were we thinking!
I used to have quite a few (but I wouldn't say tons) 45's and albums from my teen years but I think my brother wound up with them. They were probably safer in his hands.
I'm now listening to Todd Rungrens double live album "Back To The Bars". He's certainly not the best live performer out there...
Very well put. No longer will I be shy about posting my past guilty pleasures. Now 'scuse me while I cue up some Sugar by "The Archie's". After that, "Snoopy Vs. The Red Barron (don't know who did it because I can't read the name on the label) and then Come Together by (do I even need to say)...
Almost ashamed to admit it but "New England" by New England on vinyl. Don't Ever Want To Lose You....Da Da Da...
And of course it's the New England part I'm kind-a embarrassed by, not the vinyl part.
This is a wonderful disc in all respects. All DVD-A's should have been like this one.
BTW, I'm listenning to Rod Stewart's Mandolin Wind on Sirrius radios station 6033 via Dish Network.
Yes - Close To The Edge. Needed my weekly fix.
Listened to it for the first time in DTS Neo:6/Music. Not bad but hi-res 5.1 would be incredible!
