Just watched the streaming UHD of this - fantastic-looking, gorgeous, even the process work looks better than it ever has and it's really not good. A beautiful job. Watching the UHD streaming Marnie now - that one on Blu-ray was a huge disappointment and very weird-looking. This is much nicer.
It doesn't need any reappraisal from me - I saw it at the Lido Theater in LA in 1956 on a double bill with Autumn Leaves and it instantly became one of my favorite movies. While I enjoy the earlier version, the 1956 telling of the story is much better and Hitchcock's direction is superb as is...
