Ozzie & Harriet Release From Sam Nelson?

FYI, Last week I contacted MPI about duplicated episodes in season s 9 and 10 on Prime. They mentioned that they are still targeting the releases of seasons 13 and 14 for August.

TV's now are much slenderer and lighter so mounting to the wall is another option. There are many types of mounts available. At one time I had wall units for when I had CRTs, but they're all gone now. All our TV's are mounted with a simple stand below to just hold additional electronics. Much...

Ozzie & Harriet Release From Sam Nelson?

I can respect that, especially for the older off-air recordings. Is there a reason you don't mix it up a bit? For example, going with a moderate 16x9 set for content from quality SD SP master and content from newer HD masters, while keeping the 4x3 set for the older off-air recordings. Then you...

Ozzie & Harriet Release From Sam Nelson?

While I get the gist what you are saying, I've also seen HD streaming of 4:3 content stored as 1440x1080 in an HD container, Gunsmoke for example streaming on Prime. So, did CBS create a 4x3 master or a 16x9 master? I don't know, but at a glance it doesn't appear to be as cut and dry as what you...

Ozzie & Harriet Release From Sam Nelson?

Most people, these days, happily watch shows shot in 4:3 in the correct aspect ratio using a 16"9 screen without bars on top and bottom. I'm not sure what your point is? The fact is we can watch O&H in the correct ratio, while you are stuck with bars on all sides. We can also watch shows shot in...

Ozzie & Harriet Release From Sam Nelson?

It was commented on by someone early on when the first season was released. It was specifically formatted to have bars on the sides so that the aspect ratio would be properly maintained on a 16:9 screen without appearing stretched. It would only have bars on 4 sides when watched on an older 4:3...

Ozzie & Harriet Release From Sam Nelson?

That is true. Agreed. Obviously, they are trying to create new fans and convince fans on the fence to want to buy with a sampling. I thought they would only do it with a few seasons to get the ball rolling, but they've gone all the way to 8 seasons so far.

Not really different then single DVD releases, to complete series DVD release, to complete series blu-ray releases. Some have actually purchased the trifecta to have it first, have it in a smaller size, and finally in the best quality. I would agree they may not be happy about it, but many do...

Ozzie & Harriet Release From Sam Nelson?

Logically, it makes sense. Especially, from a consumer perspective, but I'm guessing they did the math. If they offered both DVD and Blu-ray right now the physical media group would be split buying one or the other, yet MPI would have the added expense of producing both physical formats. Plus...

Ozzie & Harriet Release From Sam Nelson?

That's a good sign. With the most costly aspect done up front it bodes well for all episodes eventually being released.

Ozzie & Harriet Release From Sam Nelson?

I tend to believe that the revenue generated from earlier seasons sets has a way of justifying and financially supporting the production of later season sets. Hopefully, enough will purchase the season sets as released so that a complete collection will eventually be able for you to purchase...

Ozzie & Harriet Release From Sam Nelson?

Why would you expect 24fps? DVDs do not support it. My understanding is that DVDs are limited to NTSC 29.97fps or PAL 25fps. NTSC is how it would have originally aired.

Ozzie & Harriet Release From Sam Nelson?

$200 for 100 episodes is too rich for me. Too bad they didn't just do volumes 1 and 2 as years 1 through 7 and volumes 3 and 4 as years 8 through 14. Then the episodes would be in viewing order, plus some people could buy just the first 50 and then later the add the second 50 to eventually form...
