Excellent movie..............hugely superior in every way to it's copy The Revenant ............in any case Richard Harris was a very talented actor and Leonardo has some way yet to achieve that status.....
While I disagree with your assessment of both film and actor when compared to THE REVENANT, which is quite extraordinary, I am a big fan of MAN IN THE WILDERNESS, which I first saw theatrically. It is an odd film with odd rhythms, and John Huston's character seems a bit surreal to me, as does the vessel he helms. But Harris is intensely right for his role, and the overall movie does resonate as a thrilling adventure. I am happy that the Archives are bringing this out so that more of us can make the comparison. Personally, I find both films to be indispensable.
