A few years ago, there was a GPS tracking unit ( http://www.techradar.com/us/news/ph...eotag-your-photos-with-sony-gps-dongle-556643 ) that would record a history of (GPS locations, timestamps). When you uploaded photos from the camera, and the history from this device, to a computer, software could match timestamps to get a rough idea of the GPS coordinates for each photo.

I don't know if there is something like that device still on the market, but you could look into it.

Thanks. I broke the news that there's no good solution. The options are carry a GPS box and post-sync, or buy a new camera with GPS, or manually add location to photos afterwards. I think she's coming to terms and will just manually add to photos as desired.

:) I don't want to buy a new camera. The current one was expensive enough and it's only three years old.
