I am in the process of helping set up the home theater back home. I've got a receiver, speakers, and a projector (Sony VPL-HW65ES) but no screen. We've been debating what size to get. The wall that will have the screen is big- the absolute largest it can handle is 170'' diagonal but that will be literally the entire height of the wall with about 2 feet to spare on either side.
Is it possible to put up the projector first, do some test sizes to see what size screen to get, then buy the screen and put it up? What are the cons of doing it in that order? I can imagine that deciding how far back to place the projector will be the hardest decision pre-screen (it'll be mounted on ceiling).
Thanks!
