Among your favorite television shows of the past, do you know which typeface they used for the main titles and the titles credits?
As an example, Universal Television used to set the late Sixties and Early Seventies shows with Folio (Folio Bold Extented and Folio Light Italic):
The Name of the Game
Columbo
McMillan & Wife
McCloud
Banacek
The Rockford Files

But Universal Television also used Eurostile:
Ironside
It Takes a Thief
Rod Serling’s Night Gallery
The Six Million Dollar Man
The Rockford Files set in Folio Bold Extended.

Peignot was everywhere in TV and movies (and paperback books) c. 1968-78. House on Greenapple Road, the Dan August pilot I just watched in the new set from VEI, used Peignot.

That Advertisers Gothic that was the basis of the Streets of San Francisco titles: that was also the font on Starsky & Hutch from 1975-79 on ABC.

The British science fiction series Space: 1999 was set in Neil Bold for the logo and Futura for the title credits and the stencil Futura Black for the blue inter titles of the main titles. During season 2, they changed Futura to Granby.

While the base for THE PRISONER is Albertus, the actual font had a variation where the lower case "e" had an open top end. (See the title screen above.) Online I've found a specialized font called "Village.ttf" that has the open-ended "e" along with a special capital "P" for the titling.
