A Turkish poppy field is torched -and a U.S. drug trafficker known as “Mommy” (Shelley Winters) is feeling pretty burned. She phones the local cops she owns and orders a retaliatory strike on an inner-city antidrug headquarters. Mommy’s next call should be to 911. Because now she’ll have to mess with Cleopatra Jones (Tamara Dobson).

Mommy is relentless in her vendetta – but Cleo responds with catlike karate stealth. (Bong So Hon, technical advisor on Billy Jack, supervised the karate sequences.) Doodlebug, Pickle, Snake and more of Mommy’s offbeat stooges add glide to the story’s stride. Admittedly, I'd have rather seen He Knows You're Alone or the Shaft sequels but Cleopatra Jones is one of my most wanted titles from Warners.

Hey! It's genre movie like Cleopatra Jones that pay the way for those expensive restorations! If it brings us closer to releases of High Society or Good News then I say release Cleopatra Jones And The Casino Of Gold on blu ray next!

Been waiting for this for a long time. Veteran sitcom writer Sheldon Keller co-wrote the screenplay, and his occasionally goofy touches are what make the film so much fun. I already have CASINO OF GOLD on MOD, and there's been an empty space next to it for quite a while now.

I would buy a stinker or two (according to my taste and not a comment on the two movies you mention) to get a release from Warner's unreleased large format library of more than a half dozen movies I doubt however that they work that way.

If I buy The Ballad of Cable Hogue for example they may think that this points to good business with Westerns or with movies directed by Sam Peckinpah but would that really help much with releasing High Society or Ryan's Daughter to name two more realistic titles?

Amazon has cancelled my orders for the last 4 Warner Archive titles I've pre-ordered, including this one, THE GLASS BOTTOM BOAT, YEAR OF THE DRAGON, and WILD ROVERS. I turned around and ordered them from another etailer, who has already shipped out DRAGON and ROVERS to me. Is something going on with Warner Archive and Amazon? Anyway, from here on, I won't even bother with Amazon and pre-order them from this other etailer.

Something is going on as all of those titles are now unavailable on Amazon. Several WA DVD releases too. Amazon is really pissing me off with these disputes with Warner and Disney.

Warner in general and Amazon -- not just the Warner Archives. The Allied Vaughn MOD Bluray;s seem to be affected specifically so some of the Sony and Universal line of discs have had cancellations as well.
