SEE The baddest Russian boxer in the fight of his life against the man he hates because Brigitte Nielsen moved out when he was a child to take up with someone with proper funding!

SEE Michael B. Jordan get the crap beat out of him by aforementioned Russian boxer, because he doesn't have Rocky as his coach!

SEE a man named Rocky regret not coaching him, and return so that he can take that huge Russian boxer in a second match.

SEE things you've never seen before in the brand new uprez from 2k to 4k mit HDR.

Creed II is a lovely 4k release from WB - a film which could be the beginning of an entire series of boxing pictures.

In future productions, we'll find out why Ivan Drago is really so cranky with Rocky. We'll watch Michael B's newly born son reach his teens and then manhood, boxing his way to the top to save the honor of his father.

We'll find out the real story of Rocky and a woman named Adrian, and what they have to do with the best Cheese Steaks in town.

And we'll get the back story of Apollo, and why he had to box.

And finally, we'll see Bryan Mills jump into action when Michael B.'s wife is kidnapped while he's away boxing.

Creed II is one of those unique films, that within its scope, created an entirely new world, that we'll someday learn about, when Creed I hits your Netflix account in 2020.

Ultimately, a fun film, if you enjoy boxing, but are too much of a wuss to actually go to a match, sit up really close to the ring, and get the boxer's blood on your sport jacket.

A true boxing film, and one of the first of its kind.

Did I make note of superb Dolby Atmos?

I'll wait till the series is complete [...]
From "The Battle of the Bulge":

Col. Hessler: "The best thing possible is happening - the Rocky series will go on."
Cpl. Conrad: "For how long?"
Col. Hessler: "Indefinitely. On and on, and on!"
Cpl. Conrad: "But it must come to an end."
Col. Hessler: "You're a fool, Conrad...";)

Well, the fact is that Creed may be the leading character, but these films feed too heavily on the Rocky mythology to the point of over familiarity. If there is a third film and Clubber Lang or Tommy Gunn's son comes looking for vengeance, then we will know conclusively that Stallone has no more originality to draw upon.

There was a way to lean on the mythology while still bringing the storytelling into the 21st century, which is exactly what Coogler did with the first film. And honestly, it was right there in front of them for Creed II (I have a version of the movie in my head that's a million times better than what ended up on screen). But they needed a writer not named Stallone to make that happen, and by turning script duties back over to him they went with the safe bet and ended up with mediocrity.
