The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in…as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don’t get paid for this, and I don’t have the time to list every DVD. So, please don’t complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

One of the last big weeks of 2018!

Safe shopping, everyone and here's to a great holiday season! :D

I'm really looking forward to seeing MI: Fallout. I never did get to a theater to see it this summer.

And, I've got the 2018 World Series release coming to me. ;)

The latest Mission Impossible is a must-see for me. It got probably the best reviews of any films in the series, so I'm looking forward to the UHD release.

Thanks for the prices, Mike.

Thanks again for the RoundUp, as always excellent work Mike!

Just to clarify, though, when I click on the Westworld S2 4K/UHD Amazon link, my price is coming up as $44.95. Just so people are aware the preorder price may have changed significantly.

I'm going to change the grid price to reflect that info, Carlo. Thanks for pointing it out.

Thank you, Mike!

There are a lot of interesting titles this week, but I'm going to take a bit of a breather after last week's Black Friday shopping.

The Mission Impossible box set -- and Yellowstone -- and perhaps The Lion King 4K (which is one of the very few titles I care about enough to future-proof despite not having plans to go 4K at this time) are all going to be on my "eventually" list.

The only thing I have coming from Amazon this week is the soundtrack for Mary Poppins Returns, which is out Friday and which will cost me $2.36 after applying various "we goofed up so here's credit" gift cards to it that I got from Amazon last week due to spotty service on their part. I'm glad to have the week off otherwise.

Thanks for the prices, as always, Mike. Nothing for me this week -- I spent enough during the holiday sales last week. I will eventually pick up the UHD of Westworld Season 2, but that will wait for a price drop. I may also eventually pick up the UHD of The Lion King, but it will have to drop in price significantly before that happens,

I'm going to have to space out purchases from this week's releases: Handmaid's Tale S2, Atomic Cafe, Westworld S2 and Doctor Who Davison S1... Probably picking up Handmaid's Tale this week.

Thanks again for the prices!

The Lion King in 4k...but not right now. I cancelled my Amazon preorder since it's been stuck at "way too much" for a while. I will be going in store to see if I can snag any (good) Christmas stuff. Otherwise, I think I'm focusing o holiday shopping.

As the elves say...gotta be ready by Christmas Eve. :)

Thanks Mike!

Mike, I can't believe you didn't single out "Pick of the Litter" which is coming out this week on DVD. I will probably get it on iTunes because the picture quality will probably be better in HD than on the DVD.

Wayne:

Neither can I. :(

I was kinda rushed when putting this week's WRU together. I meant to.

Wayne tipped me off to this fine documentary (which played theatrically in our area) on the process that pups go through to become service dogs. It is SO MUCH MORE comprehensive a process than simply training a therapy dog. The stakes are enormous and only the absolute best dogs make the cut. It was a well-done and insightful documentary--even for this dog-centric guy (and gal--Peg loved it, too!). But it was also put together in a very fun way in which the audience becomes vested in each of the pups profiled and quietly pulling for some "underdogs" along the way. Great fun.

I pre-ordered many, many weeks ago.

I didn't see what it was in the grid before, so I'm not sure if this is referring to the price going up or down, but my current pre-order price on WWS2 is $34.49.

Yup. That's what it was...

IIRC, Target had the 4k season 1 set for really cheap shortly after its release.

Yeah Amazon must have had it lower until the ads for Target and Best Buy came out at $44.99 and then raised their price to match it. Cool for those who got in early, bad for those of us who didn't. At least that's my theory on Amazon's pricing scheme. I don't have proof, but it's happened more than once before that I can recall, where a preorder price jumped significantly on the release of Sunday sale prices by BB or Target.

Yes, I recall picking up the 4K set last year as it was priced the same or cheaper than the blu-ray set. But I still haven't watched any of it, so I'm taking a pass on the second season for now regardless of the price.

Guilty as charged.

It was an amazing price. I had heard great things about it. And there it sits.

Yeah, it came out in November, 2017 and by July, 2018 it was $18.99 for a brief time. Like you and Mike, I haven't watched my 4K set either. However, unlike you, I haven't learned my lesson and bought the Season 2 on November 22nd for $32.49.
