Austere releases slim 8K HDMI 2.1 cable

Portland-based Austere has introduced a new 8K HDMI 2.1 cable for “discerning” customers. This is the latest addition to the company’s portfolio of home entertainment accessories, and Austere promises the new cable is engineered to meet the highest standards of 8K UHD specifications, including a bandwidth of 48 Gbps and resolutions up to 10K, 8K60 and 4K120 frame rates supported. The company places emphasis on both style and performance.

Austere’s 8K HDMI 2.1 cable incorporates “state-of-the-art” materials and engineering practices, all  intended to add value to customers’ accessory purchases. The cables are targeted at those upgrading to new 4K and 8K TVs, as well as 8K gaming consoles, elevating both video and audio signals. High-Fidelity eARC is incorporated for high quality streaming audio, while inbuilt variable refresh rate provides smooth performance to almost completely eliminate image lag, stutter, and frame tearing.

Austere says that the combination of Kevlar reinforced windings and Austere signature WovenArmor means that the cables are demonstrably thinner than most other 8K cable options. With both flexibility and strength incorporated into the design, corners should not derail a signal. Additionally, the cable includes gold shield contacts and an “elegant” aDesign housing. The slim form factor also makes the product ideal for tight installations, and a LinkFit Connector ensures a good connection that will stay in place.

The new cable is available in 1.5m and 2.5m lengths for $99 and $149, respectively. You can buy from Austere.com as well as retailers such as BrandsMart USA, Conn’s HomePlus, Crutchfield, Visions Electronics and Amazon.
