  • To show you how dumb I am about home theatre equipment I offer the following question......
    Do any BD disks offer the option of SDDS as the track format? I know on film SDDS sounds better than DTS, at least on my system it does. .

    To my knowledge no disc has been authored with SDDS sound. I do not believe any such thing exists. Other than Dolby and DTS encoded discs there are supposed to be a very limited number of discs with Auro surround and a number of them are music discs. When blu-ray was up and coming before release day I thought that Sony would have used SDDS but it never happened.

    (Cont), Sorry I can not be of much help. If you decide to get a different surround receiver I highly recommend Marantz! I love my Marantz SR-8012!

    That’s funny that you got your amp at a pawn shop, because I work at one and that’s where I got mine. It was brand new in the box

    Mine was used open box but funny we both got ours from a pawn shop, lol.
