Thanks for letting us know! Many of these were released on DVD a while ago and some youtubers posted the clips, (I especially love all of the KC & The Sunshine Band clips- those were great!) but I'll have a look and see if there's anything new.
The passing of this actor may have slipped through the cracks, but although he didn't have an extensive resume, he made his mark on the movies as "Perry" in The Wanderers ("Leave the kid alone!") and "Meat" in the Porky's franchise. He was extremely bright and I enjoyed reading his twitter posts...
Was there any mention of this in the liner notes of Carmen's LPs? My dad had the single for All By Myself, and my mom was always miffed that there was no mention of Rachmaninoff on the label.
Regardless, he was a huge talent that we won't see the likes of again.
I remember when the film was released in theaters, the newspaper ads for the various theaters would list which ending they were showing (A, B or C) which was helpful for anyone wanting to see all three. I didn't see it until it came out on VHS, which showed all three endings consecutively.
I...
I don't trust anyone but CinePost to do this type of work for me. The owner is Myron Lenenski. It helps that they're in the same city as I am, but if you're not fearful to ship material (assuming you live outside of the Atlanta area), they do great work.
I love the Columbo episodes from the 1970s and always try to catch them when they air on TV (COSI usually shows them on weekends). I'm sure I've seen every episode, some multiple times. Mainly for personal reasons, my favorite episode is the one where Robert Conrad plays the fitness guru...
I'm curious as to which version of the opening credits is shown on this new disc- the original 1973 version or the digitally altered version? My apologies if this question has already been asked and answered.
Not likely Lucas would ever allow an original version of anything to be released...
Yup, I had the same thought, but I've never bought (or considered buying) a "defective" set before, so I never paid attention to how long it usually takes for companies to address these situations.
I'm debating whether I should get this now, or wait. "Rocky II" is my least favorite of the 4 films, but I'd like to know if they're going to be issuing corrected sets or not. I'm curious as to whether they'll offer a replacement program or sneakily ("slyly"?) slip fixed sets in without making...
Same here, I just wish we had a choice. I only watch the originals on the non-anamorphic DVDs (and various fan versions that used them as a foundation).
The last time I watched the "special editions" (which was a long time ago, and the final time for me), the CG effects seemed dated. If FX are...
So...the original 1983 version of ROTJ? Or the 1997 Special Edition? Or the most recent version with blinking Ewoks?
There's never been a question in my mind- I've loved it since opening day!
Same here! The audience applauded at the end, too.
I've always felt the opposite -...
But mistakes are still being made, and it's only a matter of time before another disaster. The Universal vault fire was only 14 years ago, and not only were master recordings lost (everybody from Billie Holiday to Cheryl Crow), but films and videotapes also. No sprinklers! Safety copies? Stored...
I'm sorry but I have to respectfully disagree. MGM didn't intentionally destroy their silent films to reclaim silver or shelf space like some studios did, but what happened in that 1965 vault fire was no less negligent than the Universal fire in 2008.
No safety copies in alternate locations, no...
It's why Chaney's "London After Midnight" no longer exists. The studios saw no value in silent films and had no foresight about the future home video market.
