Considering the implications, I'd argue serious attention needs to be given to this topic.
In Oppenheimer, they calculate the probability of igniting Earth's atmosphere during their first nuclear test. Had they done this, not only would it have killed all life on Earth, it would have left a...
Hey Doug, few things.
1 - The weak magnetic field certainly doesn't help the planet, but as it turns out, the rate at which the atmosphere is disappearing cannot be fully attributed to the solar wind alone. Gravity isn't the issue, despite the common narrative.
2 - Yes, as shocking at this...
Another great Nolan film. Saw it in 70mm.
Do you remember the "near zero" part? I know it's hard to believe, but there is compelling (and thus far irrefutable) evidence that their worst fear happened on Mars.
Finally saw #3 last night. Offering the dissenting opinion on these movies. They had no right to be as good as they were. Yes the third one suffered from a thin, unbelievable plot, but I just don't care. Tatum is so enjoyable to watch.
The podcast hosted by HTF member @Sam Posten. Have you heard it? At the end of each episode is a segment called Good, Bad, and Ugly where one person tries to guess the other person's opinion of a film.
Getting caught up on Marvel. Watched this last night.
:emoji_boom: Coogler directed the sh*t outta this film. :emoji_boom:
Acting was superb. Story was incredible, especially given what they had to work with.
Is DC taking notes?
The graveyard scene was nice.
Cheap humor. Not clever. Kevin Smith is so full of himself it's sickening. Clerks 2 was where it should have ended.
And I question...
Just watched this. Dear god.
The Good: Aldis Hodge, Pierce Brosnan, the violence, *maybe* Dwayne Johnson
I'm glad WB scrapped any further development on whatever the hell the DCEU was turning into, but under James Gunn I am really hoping things don't go from bad to worse.
From that article...
“I wasn’t expecting a repeat of the first movie critically, but I was still a little surprised because I think it’s a good film,” director David F. Sandberg
Really want this movie to succeed. Anthony Mackie is such a fun actor. I don't want to be spoiled, but I wonder if he'll get the same super soldier juice that Steve Rogers did?
Regardless, I'm also surprised to see Tim Blake Nelson and Liv Tyler are reprising their roles from the Incredible...
Of all the James Gunn movies, Super with Rainn Wilson is the only one I've enjoyed. I don't find any of his screenwriting all that clever. The Suicide Squad was such a ridiculous movie. While I hope he surprises me with the next Superman movie, I'm not optimistic.
