Received Wings of the Hawk early. Though I've seen a print at Film Forum and Hypnotic Hick at the Egyptian, it was like seeing them for the first time on my active screen, Highly recommended and congratulations to the 3D Film Archive for releasing the 20th full length Golden Age title! (They...
gives the impression that control had been given away in its entirety, and as Mr. Welles had opined, something to the point that filmmaking is one of the greatest gifts one can give a child.
Huh? This "statement" is certainly trying to sound inspired,,but is more insipid, Look I quoted Orson...
This would have increase the 3D home video audience in seeing a 3D classic the way it was meant to be seen ,even though it's not perfect like polaroid.
3D in the 50s was polarized not anaglyphic so it wasn't meant to be seen as such. See the 3D Film Archive and myths about 3D.
Additionally the 3D Film Archive replied to a query on their Facebook site...I know a black and white work print survives but I’m not sure on the final feature. It will never happen as the rights clearances would be a nightmare.
Just rechecked my 2 copies of Essential Bugs. Both 155 minutes. Original 2010 release has a black slip, this new one (I got at Walmart) has a red slip. Don't know if Amazon had an exclusive longer version...
The Golden Carrot Collection consists of discs from the Looney Tunes Golden Collection. 2010's Essential Bugs Bunny has been repackaged with an anniversary slip
Before you launch your career as a consultant to the home video industry, you may want to check other forums where people are discussing buying 3D tvs and projectors just because of this release
Hey Josh you weren't jinxed..both showings at the Film Forum were botched...the 1st showing started in out of sync 3D that was switched to 2D after the intermission, the 2nd was 2D only..now that Bob is involved that will be history!
Have you met any 3-D actors in real 3-D?
Sort of. I met the king of Golden Age 3D Morris Ankrum's son David at a convention. He's been in a couple of Star Wars films. And I was in the same theater with Arlene Dahl last year at a showing of Sangaree.
Thanks for the Tiny Giants spotlight!
The market may be withered but with excitement over Flicker Alley's 3D Rarities 2, Indicator's Mad Magician, Kino's Taza, Wings of the Hawk, Revenge of the Shogun Women and limited releases like Prototype and The Secret Life of Cars 3 I wouldn't say dead.In...
Revisited this thread in anticipation of Volume 2 coming out this year. Volume 1 is such a great disc and I'm looking forward to everyone who wrote here's responses to V2
Speaking of Dark Country (3 years later)there's a director cut 10th anniversary screening with director/star Thomas Jane this Sunday for you lucky LA people...
Uh no. Warner is still supporting 3D blu-ray releases more than any other studio. This is a petition for them to utilize the same techniques that have been successful for Universal as well as a boutique label for Paramount for the release of their catalog.
There are quotes from a Warner...
I first learned about this petition on a 3D Facebook site. Then later saw it on another site with a 3D forum and then this site.
So the original poster was just reaching out to like minds that would potentially sign a petition. As this post from years ago generated many 3d related posts...
There was recently a spate of new (from 2015) “LeTV” brand 55” 4K TVs that a number of 3D folks were able to get cheap from a liquidator. There are a few quirks, and a bit big for an everyday monitor, but would be great for a classroom.
From a Natonal Stereoscopic Association post on Facebook...
I know Bob has said himself before that he is against petitions but it's interesting exists https://www.change.org/p/warner-brothers-restore-and-release-warner-brothers-3d-classics-with-3-d-film-archive?signed=true
Diabolikdvd has it (as well as the Nudie Cutie title). Here is some additional info from the site
