Really late to the Chapter 10 party...but just an idea here: I'm not completely buying The Child has eaten the eggs. I don't know how you have that character-which is on all the merch and a popular little guy with the kids-eat babies. I'm thinking something else happens with the leftover eggs...
He did but it doesn't matter. Morrison is playing Boba, apparently. The child we last see picking up Jango's helmet in the arena and don't see again until A New Hope in the deleted scene (then again in Empire and Jedi).
IIRC Attack of the Clones right, Jango was the model for the clones and requested one clone child which wouldn't age at an accelerated rate. That clone is Boba, who we also see in that film. It stands to reason Boba would look like Jango. So...maybe that's it?
Or the season's filming is done and they were keeping Dawson and Biehn secrets until they could roll out the news.
Any one of the three, or combination of the three could come into play here. It's nice to have some good news, honestly, so I don't really care the reason. :)
Same. It's easier for me to do one episode a week than try to race through 10 or 13 in a weekend and avoid all social media of any kind. Because you know someone waited until the minute they were posted, watched all of them and then started writing articles with spoilers in the titles.
The...
Every series-and I mean every one-needs a reset episode or some downtime between the "big" episodes of a season. Back in the day, those episodes would be used to make up budget or save money for something big coming down the pike. Now? I have zero problems with a quieter, more character based...
Chapter 4 is one of those "small" stories that would be considered filler or padding in other shows. It doesn't directly service the main storyline, but it enhances who Mando is as a person. It's a bridge episode between Chapter 3's rock'em, sock'em finale and whatever is to come in the back...
Even further down that rabbit hole, per Wookiepedia, his name is Yoxgit...AND he is supposedly the same Ugnaught from Cloud City.
Small galaxy. :rolling-smiley:
The green guys from Jabba's palace are Gamorrean. Ugnaughts are the shorter "builder/scavenger" types from Cloud City in TESB. They toss 3PO's head around.
Nope. It's Arvala-7, a planet which we haven't seen or heard about up to now.
Also, I knew Kuiil was familiar. Aside from being Nick Nolte's voice, he's an Ugnaught.
One of the things I'm having a problem with it not seeing the Maldalorian's face. We, as an audience, can infer and understand a...
Agree. It had to be Star Wars or Marvel...and nothing from Marvel is ready to launch as far as I know.
The Boba Fett movie was simmering for a long time. I half guess some or all of that plot line was used to The Mandalorian, which explains how this show got ready so "fast."
The rest of the episode summary is...I'm being hyper cautious since I don't want to unnecessary antagonize anyone following this conversation without having seen the episode. Besides, I think it was mentioned last night was the tipping point for spoilers/open conversation about Chapter 1.
All fair. I was just curious.
I'm not emotionally invested with The Maldalorian yet and I don't know if I ever will be. I'm more than willing to give this show, and any of the upcoming ones, all the time they need to find their legs and to tell their stories.
Kinda agree. I've been thinking this through and it's like Chapter 1 was a prequel to the actual series. Like a comic book which is setting up the universe, etc. I'm not 100% sure where they spent $8.5 million on this episode, but I guess IG-11 and the action will do that...?
Out of curiosity...
Yeah, Chapter 1 is definitely in the "good" column. But damn...
The end credits music is very appropriate for the series as well. It's not as catchy as the John Williams music (nothing ever will be), but it was right for this show.
I guess I'll see if the story feels deficient tonight when I watch, though this is one of the advantages to streaming/pay cable vs. networks: the shows can be as long or short as needed and not have to worry about fitting into a time slot.
Does runtime matter? If the story the episode is telling fits in 36 minutes, great. If it fits into 84 minutes, great. Don't unnecessarily pad and filler an episode...but don't leave things out unnecessarily, either.
