Kind of reminds me of the LotR: RotK nominations. I didn't think that movie was significantly better than the two that preceded, but it felt like a "reward for epic undertaking". Like a lifetime achievement award. :rolling-smiley:
For those who have not read the long Stephen King series (or are currently reading it), I'll spoiler it what I'm about to say. But if they did as you suggest, it would be reminiscent of:
Stephen King had the same issue with The Dark Tower series. The time between books got longer and longer. He had only finished four of an anticipated 7. And then he almost died when he was struck by a van while walking. With mortality now no longer an abstract notion, he finished the remaining...
Me too Johnny. I actually straddle the pre- and internet ages almost perfectly, half my life without it and half with it. And by with the internet I mean as we know it now, I know it was actually invented before I was born.
And I used to regularly catch myself doing the same thing I noted...
I wonder how much of this fan disappointment (not just in GoT but most other recent episodic TV series) is due to the internet and people discussing shows now ad nauseum and looking forward to coming onto the internet (not just this forum but many forums, especially reddit) and...
Maybe others' experience is different, but the macroblocking and compression effects which plagued the network broadcast were, for me, almost completely eliminated when I rewatched the episode the following day on HBO Go (on a 400mbps connection). The original broadcast was the culprit in my...
I think the problem with comparing this season with previous seasons is that the 7th book isn't written at all. GRRM states he hasn't even started writing it. Versus it seems he's largely been done with Book 6 but is in editing and revising stages.
As such, even through likely most of last...
Omg when they release this on disc they should have an alternate soundtrack option where, as the final episode credits roll they actually do play You can’t always get what you want. That would be pure gold.
I think the real answer is that each individual chooses what they want to be skeptical about. I’ve watched and read quite a bit of fantasy and never wondered when dragons run out of fire. But that’s just me.
I'd love to see an analysis of how many of those petition signers actually pay for HBO/Go/Now vs. who is using a friend/relative's account. :rolling-smiley:
Han disagrees. :rolling-smiley:
Also I never liked the Han Shot First meme. It should actually say Han is the only one who shot. Because he was a bad-a$$. But Han Shot First rolls off the tongue easier and fits better on a shirt, I guess.
And now, back to your regularly scheduled GoT...
I'd be okay with the cup's likely digital erasure in the BD/4K release...but I hope they keep it in the deleted scenes/bloopers segment for posterity. It wouldn't be the first alteration as I believe a head on a spike was digitally altered in the first or second season because it resembled...
It's going to be Greyworm counseled by Varys who will win the throne, thereby ushering the Golden Age of Peace under the Nutless Rulers! :rolling-smiley:
On a serious note, I'm glad they have thrown everything up in the air now. A few episodes ago I'd have had my money on Dany and some of the...
Okay we all know that is totally unrealistic, given Starbucks' employees inability to spell basic names correctly (my coworker Juan had "Wun" written on his cup).
Dany would have been lucky to have "Dini" or "Donnie" written on her cup.
What I want to know is: who kept their mouth shut about it? Because you know, at some point right after "Cut!" at least one person looked down and said "oh s#$t" when they saw the cup, and then chose to not say a thing about it at all...
That person is 1000000% better at keeping secrets than...
I do think they need to separate anyone who criticizes the episode for being dark (of which I am not one) from those that complained of the horrible macroblocking, artifacting and poor compression of the cable feed. The latter rendered it nearly unwatchable. My two subsequent viewings via HBO Go...
