Ha - no sooner did I post this than DMC notified me they'd shipped the $10 BDs! :D The 4K Camerons still "processing", however. :(

Methinks DMC is backlogged period. I ordered a bunch of $10 Blu-ray exclusives like 2 weeks back and that order's still "processing". That's the status for these 3 3/12 Cameron 4Ks as well - and I placed that order 2/10. They sent the 2 newer titles immediately ("Marvels" and "Prey").

Just to confirm what I think I already know: There aren't any solo releases of "Abyss" and "Lies" on BD, right? Those discs are only part of the 4K package? And is the "Aliens" BD with the 4K new or a rehash? Sorry if these were already answered - long thread and too lazy to go over all of...

No way to know until it hits shelves, I suspect. Given how great the original 3D BD looked, I don't see real room for improvement in terms of PQ.

However one feels about the ending, the fact remains that the entire plot revolves around the actions of the aliens. The aliens sink the US sub and Bud's team gets involved along with the SEALs. I guess you could make a version where the sub sinks for alternate reasons... but that would change...

But the thriller elements exist because of the aliens. No aliens and there's no story.

Indeed. I have my 2ndary 4K player hooked to my old 50" 1080p Panny plasma - plays back 4K discs just like a BD would.

I'd be content with a Blu-ray of "Ruthless People"! :unsure:
