I think the strikes continue to badly damage 2024.

Hollywood desperately needs "Dune 2" to do well to break this streak of crummy weeks.

It is a federal holiday, but not all school systems follow those. Mine does but we don't get Columbus Day or Veterans Day.

But if these people are "online" enough to complain online, then they shoulda been "online" enough to know what to expect.

Then those people are idiots for not knowing in advance it was a musical. Yes, the trailers try to hide it, but it's still not exactly a secret.

Yeah - it surprised me as well. "Color Purple" still has 1 screening a day at a local 8-screen AMC and 5 at a 12-screen. The 15-screen where it got dropped is in a mall that attracts a lot of teens - maybe that's why it got the boot.

Looks like "Wonka" is officially profitable, as it's at $465m WW with a $125m budget. Good! I like the movie and think it deserves its success. "Color Purple" seems to be sinking like a stone. I know it's not opened internationally yet but with a $100m budget and $54m in the US, it feels...

"Joker 2" is probably the most interesting 2024 flick, partly because the 1st was good and also because I luvs me some Gaga. "Inside Out 2" should be anticipated by me, but Pixar's been in such a rut that I'm less than optimistic. Otherwise, I see a bunch of "oh, that could be good" movies but...
