I shouldn't have said he didn't care. I should have just said that being involved with home releases is low on his list of priorities since, as pointed out by JoshZ, Cameron likes to have control over how his movies are presented.
I'm basing it on 25 years plus of him not bothering to put any effort into releasing HD copies of some of a lot of his films. Maybe I should clarify. It is not that he doesn't care about home video at all. It is that he cares about his films are.presented and doesn't want poor home video...
I don't think it is strange at all. Cameron is obsessed with tech for making his movies for theatrical release which is where he wants his movies to be seen. He just doesn't really care about home video releases of his old films with the exception of TITANiC.
Home video just isn't his focus or...
Yes, because the massive amounts of servers needed to store digital copies for download and/or streaming have no environmental effect with their massive consumption of power. Nothing we do is environmentally benign.
Where do all the obsolete servers go? I know. They go to Silicon Heaven where...
That's a bit harsh. There are some people who cannot resolve or see 3D films. For example, someone who has lost an eye. I don't have an issue with a 2D release of the film. The issue I have is if a 3D version (the actual native format) is not made available as well.
Anyways, getting back to the subject, I'm expecting that Cameron is going to have the clout to get a physical release of this film done and that a digital download is not going to be its only release format outside of a release on D+.
I always found the glee that some on this forum had when 3D was killed annoying. They hated 3D and took great pleasure in seeing others, who wanted the format, lose it. It was gross.
You are not telling us anything that we do not already know; however, there are still some 3D releases being done. Avatar happens to be a special case, since Cameron has invested so much in filming in 3D and his intention that it be seen in 3D. That is why it is expected to eventually have a 3D...
I'll only buy it if a 3D version is released and only as an accompaniment to the first one. The film really wasn't all that good, beyond its stellar world effects.
