I'm also in the "Actually prefer GOTG2 to GOTG" club. Though they're both pretty great.
The bit with Rocket, Baby Groot & the bomb would have been so much better if it hadn't been used in the trailer though.
Bautista is a crucial part of what made GotG great, and was even better in Vol 2 and Infinity War. If he's not part of Vol 3 I don't think that I'm going to have much interest.
Throwing out Gunn's script would be petty, and virtually guarantees that unless GOTG3 undeniably knocks it out of the park, there is going to be suspicion that it wasn't what it could have been. And if Bautista asks to go in response it will be exponentially worse.
All seems so ridiculous when...
I'm not sure these are remotely comparable situations, especially considering the reactions of the cast in both cases. Gunn's cast supports him, Roseanne's not so much.
Loved it. I want to see it again in 3D just for the opening credits scene.
I think overall it's better than the first one, and that's saying something.
Some great bits:
- The Sovereign drones attacking in rows Galaga-style, complete with 8-bit sound effects on their end.
- Quill's replacement...
