    117. It Conquered the World (1956) - 3.5 out of 5, new Basically an Invasion of the body Snatchers ripoff, Roger Corman style, which is to say that it was worth the watch due to Corman's ability to stretch the dollar and make some fantastic films. 118. FTWD S6 EP1/2 - 4 out of 5, new Man -...

Infinity Pool was my favorite new film for this challenge, and honestly, for the past few years. Glad you enjoyed it as well. I thought it was fantastic and look forward to watching it again.

I wanted to fit in Evil Dead 2 this challenge as it's been a few years, but alas, I ran out of time. My wife and I have been watching (obsessively) Fear The Walking Dead, so much of my evenings have been chewed up with that. We're loving it, but I found that I missed out on some classics.

    107. FTWD S5 EP 11/12 - 4 out of 5, new As always, no review of the continuing story. But dang, it's fantastic. 108. Horror of Dracula - 4 out of 5 This is my second favorite Dracula-based film behind Nosferatu (1922). For all of Bela Lugosi’s prowess in the 1933 Universal, the film is...

I've always loved Pumpkin head for the FX and tone. Glad you enjoyed it. I wanted to watch Burke and Hare Because I'm a huge fan of Simon Peg and I think Andy Serkis is so dang talented. I'll have to give it a go at some point. I have come to realize that year in- year out I can never fit...

    99. Devil Girl From Mars 1954 - 3.5 out of 5, new Typical aliens-to-earth story with a wonderfully cheesy giant robot. Nothing new here, but rather enjoyable and worth the watch. 100. An American Werewolf in London - 4 out of 5 I still think the werewolf transformation holds up after all these...

    93. Nosferatu - 4.5 out of 5 Despite Bela Lugosi’s intense presence, Nosferatu is the superior vampire film when compared to Dracula, 1931. Max Schrek is brilliant in his role as the Count, and the cinematography of the film is captivating. For me, the film benefits from being a silent picture...

Been insanely busy at home and work. Consequently, I've fallen behind on reviews. Here's a slew of short ones so I can catch up. 78. Creepshow S4 EP 5 - 4 out of 5, new Another creative episode all around the board. In the 1st story, Something Burrowed, Something Blue, we get Tom Atkins! He...

My wife has Shaun of the Dead and The World's End pretty much neck and neck, but prefers Worlds End just a bit more. Both crack her up. I'm opposite: both are neck and neck, but Shaun inches out World's End for me. As an aside, I saw Hot Fuzz in the theater 4 times because I kept taking other...

    76. The City of the Dead (aka Horror Hotel) - 4 out of 5 A young student follows her professor's thought to go to an old village to research witchcraft only to discover that there are some terrifying secrets in the sleepy town. Christopher Lee plays the professor perfectly, as he always does...

Like Michael, I've been otherwise occupied. However, unlike Michael, rather than seeing KISS and Bob Dylan, I saw my mother-law last night, and I'm seeing my mother-in-law tonight. It's a mother-in-law double feature for me. She loves classic cinema, however, she does not like horror films. I...

    68. FTWD S4 EP 3/4 - 4 out of 5, new Season 4 keeps rolling along real strong. 69. Creepshow S4 EP 3 - 2.5 out of 5, new One of the weaker episodes of the series with both stories being rather lame, boring, and poorly executed. They both seemed to be going for chuckles, but nothing really hit...

    64. FTWD S4 EP 1/2 - 4 out of 5, new Season 4 picks up where season 3 left off in the awesome factor and expands the universe while connecting this series to the original TWD. Just fantastic. My wife and I are now officially hooked. Took 3 seasons, but there you have it. I’m glad we stuck it...

If you're an Evil Dead fan, you have to watch the series. It was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. I'm sad they weren't able to get a 4th season going. The conclusion of season 3 would have opened up a fantastic direction for another season.

This is one of my October favorites. I absolutely love it and have been looking for a time to watch it for this challenge. And with lowered expectations, I fully expect you to report back that I was very wrong in my assessment of the film! I think if you go in without thinking this is an Evil Dead film, you'll probably enjoy it more than I did. I had a different expectation based on the material preceding this film...

Agreed on the gore and violence of EDR. It was great, though I found the G and V of Malignant to be superior (and I loved that batshit crazy story of Malignant too). And I'm guessing you're probably spot on that these later films hit with you better than diehard fans of the originals. I probably...

I'm a huge Evil Dead fan. I've watched the original movies countless times and I watched Ash vs the Evil Dead 3 times through. I never watched the remake, however, for some reason, when Evil Dead Rises came out, I was willing to give it a go. I wish I had not. It wasn't terrible, however, it...

    54. Flesh and the Fiends – 3.5 out of 5, new Peter Cushing turns in yet another wonderful performance as a doctor who needs fresh dead bodies to use in his as subjects in his lectures and for his research. 49. Jekyll and Hyde 1913 - 3 out of 5, new I love the tale of Jekyll and Hyde, always have. This is a silent, short version from 1913 and did not have the gripping nature of the story, as other films on the material have done for me. The silent version from 1920 with John Barrymore remains my...

    44. The Human Monster - 3 out of 5, new My fourth Bela Lugosi flick of the challenge and one I haven’t seen before, I think. Lugosi plays a duel role here, and though there is supposed to be something of a twist, it’s pretty obvious from the getgo. Worth a watch. Not worth a second watch. 45...

    35. The Fog, - 4 out of 5 A classic for such obvious reasons. Essentially a ghost story so it was already off to a great start for me.
