So, that's $4,400 for the whole setup, as opposed to $3,400(?) just for the Anthem receiver? It's a good decision.

LOL. You did just fine. We’ve all been at the exasperation point.

Here are some cost cutting suggestions to consider. I seriously doubt you would regret any of them. Instead of the Anthem MRX 740 for $3,100, a refurb Marantz SR7015 for $1,799. Instead of the Anthem or Emotiva XPA-DR3 amp for $2,200-2,300, an Emotiva XPA-3 for $1,399. Maybe instead of dual...

...plus, keep in mind the three channel Emotiva XPA-DR3 is $100 less than the two channel Anthem MCA 225.

..and you'll be perfectly happy with the dual SB4000s. Don't worry about stepping up to the SB16s.

It's the best sounding amp I've ever used with my Thiel CS 3.6 speakers, which are on par with your B&Ws, except the Thiels are more difficult to drive. It has massive output, is fully differential, which has sonic benefits by cancelling common noise. I can go into that more if you want. It's...

I'll third the idea of a three channel amp instead of two. I'll toss in my highest recommendation, though, for the Emotiva XPA-DR3 instead of the Anthem.

You will never be disappointed with the Debut, plus that line has an On-Wall model that might be convenient. However, going with the B&Ws, if you just want the best match possible, the UniFi is three way and will have just a little more refined sound and maybe better dispersion. I expect they...

ELAC is having a big sale on Debut v2 and UniFi v2 speakers. 40% off.

Regarding sealed subs, they do produce a different style of bass. It's a little more stealth, I would say. It's also cleaner. Part of their appeal is the ability to stop on a dime. So impacts and explosions are sharper, but they're less obviously flashy in general. To make an analogy...

Don't take anything I say personally. I want to help, but it can be frustrating at times, and I let it get to me more than it should. Sometimes I let frustrations from previous threads spill into new ones.

The fact is it’s not unusual for people to think the uncontrolled aspect of ported subs is a good thing. I no longer believe that.

It’s really just frustration regarding the issue.

Notice I never mentioned music. Sealed subs never have port noise or get sloppy when you over-drive them. Since they don't have ports, they can't have chuffing or port noise. On the second issue, ported subs will get sloppy when you over-drive them, but a sealed cabinet inherently prevents...

It all sounds good, with the modification Josh suggested. Anthem is an excellent, long term solution for a receiver. In fact, I plan to get an Anthem preamp/processor in the next few months. One slight modification. I know there is the whole "ported subs are best for movies" blah, blah...

As mentioned, you can't use an external amp with your receiver. Unfortunately, there are still some pretty severe supply chain problems, and I don't see many deals on models that can. In Denon, you need at least a X3xxxH level model, and I don't see any refurbs of them, so you're looking at...

Briefly, I would try to keep your B&Ws. How is their condition? The surrounds and cones look good, but I don't know what is up with the tweeters. Is the cloth over them deteriorating, or just dirty? In general, I suggest keeping them and getting a matching center speaker. You really don't...

Yep. You're hearing the difference between a "resolving" speaker (ELAC) and a "flashy" speaker (Klipsch).
