Personally I don't need no more Batman. I can quite happily keep playing the peerless Nolan trilogy and the cartoonish caper that is the Adam West television series. None of these imposters like Affleck or Keaton or Pattinson!
It would interesting to know if it is just a terrible film because unless Warners say to the contrary, this is what the public will think. Whatever the reason (it is probably a multitude), it is a career threatening film for Leslie Grace and the directors.
Clearly Warners want to emulate the success of Marvel, but the DC films are a mishmash of films with different actors playing the same character. I found Batman v Superman to be unwatchable, having mortals and immortals on the same side is fine but having them oppose each other just doesn't work.
You're right, I haven't read it. It's just the visualisation of an aged Michael Keaton running around in a batsuit makes me feel sad for the character not having sorted out Gotham, and for the actor donning the suit for a pay check (I feel the same about Harrison Ford!).
I've enjoyed watching Keaton in American Assassin and The Protégé recently, but does anyone really want to see a 70 year old Batman, shouldn't he have retired from crime fighting by then.
