    I basically intended to do something like that as well... but never got around to doing the actual masking... and then, got lazy of late and haven't actually changed the zoom setting on my Epson 5050 as planned for the past year or so... :P I may get back on that next summer or so after I move...

    Hehheh... just to be clear, I don't hate letterboxing (or pillarboxing... or even windowboxing at times... and even choose that on occasion for my FP setup :cool:). I just think it had some real drawbacks back in the old SD days, especially if you're talking VHS on a smaller CRT to boot. But...

    ^RE: getting rid of non-OAR discs, well, I'm guessing that should really depend... I'd think if one has a huge collection (that makes rewatching it all requiring at least a few years, if not more), then that might make sense, excepting for some select faves (one might prioritize for revisiting)...

    I'm gonna add my meager (partial?) support for this general thought/suggestion -- normally, just agreeing as a reaction woulda sufficed, but in this case, I think an actual, clarifying comment post is warranted. Yes, P&S sucked... and good riddance... BUT letterboxing for particularly wide...
